happy new year...feeling optimistic 12/31/2010

today was a busy day...i managed to get my stats and pics up in the weight room and i got in 30 minutes on the wii fit, but i didn't get to work on my vision board. i did my sister's hair and make up for a wedding she was going to today and realised that i really do love doing hair and make up...i always have, but when i went to hairdressing school in 1995-96 i was 18-19 years old and i loved doing hair, but had really wanted to go to school for fashion design (i went for art, but never went…

2011-eating, goals and my environment.

I am in the Vault-- I will work it. I will eat raw or plan my non raw foods to be steamed veggies and some cooked grains.Thank you for including some of these recipes on the site. If I plan this then having those non raw items will NOT cause me to say "to heck with it I already messed up today". I will NOT have dairy, wheat (except wheat grass), or meats. I know what these do to me (joint pains, eczema, increased weight, poor health).

I have a mini green house that I got with a Christmas…

Let the games begin!!!!

Hey there, everyone...

I wanted to end this year with a blog updating  what's happening in my life.

You all know that I miracelously got a commercial vita-mixer about 2 weeks ago.

Well, I've been a blending fool. It's so much easier now for me.

I've gone about 70% raw with a few lapses and I hope hope to stomp  those out as the days go by.

I'm already seeing results... a demin skirt that I was struggling  to get over my upper body and hips to

get…

Michael Bernard Beckwith - post from facebook - too good not to share :-)

Is simply saying, let the dust & grit of this past year be the manure for the blossoming of your authentic nature.

Just A Little Arsenic

I have come to believe there are two kinds of people: the Moderation People and the "Better-off-leaving-it-alone" People.  The past few months have convinced me, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that I am a card carrying member of the second group.

I wish I was a Moderation Person!  I would love to be one of these people who could have "just a bite" or handle "just this once and I'll get right back on track tomorrow."  For some people, that must be true.  Weight Watchers has built…

what a difference a (raw) year makes

New Year's Eve 2009: After a bowl of cereal or a muffin for breakfast, the 250-lb. me waddled through the grocery store buying unhealthy and processed foods for my family's dinner. Legs aching from that exertion, I rested for a while upon getting home. I was still ignoring the fact that I had apparently developed a dairy allergy that made me feel like I was drowning in my own phlegm, so…

Holiday traditions

Holiday Traditions have always eluded me since my mom passed away.  When she was here, 30 years ago, we had many many things that we did together when Thanksgiving and Christmas rolled around.  After she went to heaven, it was left up to me to pull it off and with 3 brothers who basically were not…

Become an Ace of Raw Cakes!

Hello My friends! Been a while.. truth is I've been doing a lot introspective spelunking and wading through some mental muck that needed flushing. After taking some time to meditate and get some insights, I'm back! And I'm bringing you a recipe for the Carrot Cake I created for my recent workshop at Catch a Healthy Habit Cafe! Pardon the lame pun, but raw cake prep is literally a piece of cake. It's just a matter of formula. Let's get to the kitchen/lab/culinary creation station and… Continue

Being Honest & Hilariously Awesome Synchronicity

So here I am...ready to start my first initiative with RFR in the Vault.

I'm feeling great, eating raw with the exception of Christmas day and the day after :) (I bought an amazing vegan apple pie from my favorite vegan restaurant) It was great!

I made a deal with a friend of mine at work. She is eating "raw" for 30 days at the start of Jan. 1st. She challenged me to try fruitarianism again for 30 days. I love it when people challenge me and we make deals…

Breakthroughs.... OH, how I LOVE them :-)

So much going on in my life these days - college aged kids trying to find their way, a career that needs some adjustments, a raw lifestyle 1 and 1/2 years in the making, a carnivore ( yet TOTALLY supportive of my choices) husband.... in summary - life..

For the past week or so, I've been getting up every morning and doing an hour of yoga.  I had fallen out of the routine for a few months and the first day was tough.. I was tight in both body and mind.  I kept reminding myself…
