Been a while :).

Hi everybody :) It has been so long since I have posted or even been on the website (although I looked at it briefly a couple times in the past, but then changed my mind!). I hope you all have been doing well :)

So much has happened since I've last been on the site. :) But I do have a reason for coming back today--I really want to talk about a new twist that happened in my health journey, because it's a tiny thing that's now changing the outlook of everything I am doing.

Life on Track?

Hello my lovely raw foodies!  I have missed you so much!  I haven't been on the site in awhile due to life craziness. I am still working at the co-op in the produce dept and I have to say I love being surrounded by fruits and veggies.  It's fun too, I get to talk about them, raw food, and juicing a lot and I love it.  Now that it's winter here in Minnesota I haven't been very high raw but since I learned about intuitive eating in the last initiative I've been listening to my body.  I have…

Thanksgiving & Gratitude in General :)

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

You know, I don’t really need a holiday to express gratitude and I know that you don’t either!  But the thing is, in the busy hustle and bustle of L-I-F-E, humans often forget about this magical thing!  It warms my heart and soul knowing that on this day, many more people than usual are taking the time to connect with what they are thankful for!  Just think…

The Actual Mac n Cheese Recipe

Hi everyone! I would say that I was definitely in the mood for some (raw) mac n cheese last night, I'm pretty sure that I was craving it! And I got to say that it was very delicious :)

The cheese was very creamy and rich, I could just honestly eat the cheese straight from the container I love it so much! Making cheese is my favorite thing for any recipe whether it`s cheesy kale chips or mac n cheese, or just making it as a dip with some veggies :)

I just…

raw desserts

So excited- I brought a raw dessert to 2 different Thanksgiving meals and everyone loved them..   I made a jumble berry upside down cake ( Jennifer Cornbleet's recipe) and then I just make an cinnamon apple upside down cake using the same idea-  It was so easy and so quick- I couldn't use the food processor because of a missing piece so I made the crust in my blentec- nuts, coconut and date-Itprobably was a little more processed than it should have been but no one…

Live Blood Analysis

Alright, so as we may or may not know, one of the biggest concerns if you are vegetariab/vegan/raw is vitamin B12 as it is one of the hardest vitamins to get in these diets. Well the other day at my work, I was speaking with one of the workers who does live blood analysis and core treatments, and I told her that I was interested in getting a live blood analysis done to see if I was lacking in vitamin B12.

The very next morning, I went into work early where we took a look at my blood…

So..moved in...and its so wonderfully warm :)

I am also not itching..or rather the itch has almost gone and my skin has healed..in fact its softer now LOL

I am working full time now..and that has its challenges..i have to walk half an hour to the bus stop..then a 20 min ride then hop off and another half an hours walk to work....the reverse after a full days work is knackering..but i should get used to it in a week or so :)

So anyhow...i feel…

For a lack of a garden...

It’s been a loooong time since I last posted, but I’ve recently felt a tug to come back to the site.

Maybe for some inspiration…I’m not sure.

All I know is that this year has not turned out how I expected.

A late season foot injury (plantar fasciitis) prematurely ended my running season.  I haven’t run since late September. I had my first marathon scheduled for late October, but logic overruled my ego and I dropped out.

So with…

Loss and sadness - part of our shared journey

So when sad and trying, probably heartbreaking times are upon us - we may feel so alone. People of faith may find solace and strength to carry on with this as a guide.

Others of us who have no particular beliefs to help us through will still share those feelings of loss and grief and seek to find the way forward. Each person's grief is unique yet the universal experience of it is the same.

Although it is natural to retreat to one's individual comfort zone at these times and it feels… Continue

SCFCSA

A friend of mine just introduced me to SCFCSA- south central farmers cooperative community support where i got to buy a carton of vegetables for $15. Got to pick my produce up at the local farmers market in my area.

There were so much greens in that carton it's going to take some time to learn them all. From now i will be buying my veggies from them. Next week i will be getting their large carton. This is such a good deal i wanted to share with everyone....Lisa

Raw food diet while nursing

Hi all, I'm new to the raw food world in the sense that we have committed as a family to slowly eliminate processed foods and end up 90%raw in a year. I have a 3yo and 1 yo. I tandem nurse. I'm worried that I'm not going to get enough protein to keep my supply up for both. Any advice out there?
Thanks! S

Why Am I So Tired?

I seem to hear and read all the time how people have so much energy when they start eating raw, and I did have more energy for awhile after I started eating mostly raw, but it just seems like I am tired almost all of the time again. Some days are good but so many more are not good at all. I have been telling myself that my body is trying to heal itself of all of the harm I have done to it up until now but that does not always help. Has anyone else had this problem?

Where to start?

Hi everyone. I am currently in school for holistic nutrition and I have been watching and subscribing to raw food websites. In school digestive enzymes comes up again and again, the best way to get them is by taking them or not cook your food. I want to go raw but it seems so overwhelming, I don't know where to start. What food do I buy first? What do I first start to change and incorporate? I really want to go raw, but every time I find a recipes I like, there is too many overwhelming… Continue

Hi folks!

Haven't blogged here for ages. Been lurking though, and enjoying everyone else's input.

We were burgled last Saturday. They  took everything they could lay their hands on - passports, wallets, laptop, car keys (and car). We all slept like babies while this was going on. I can't believe it! I'm normally an incredibly light sleeper - even the cat walking upstairs wakes me up! Was exhausted though - truly hideous long stressful day at work and didn't get home until very late.

Oh…

Still itchy

So I have been drinking botttled water (something I never normally do..)...and I am still itchy.

If i hadnt been living jere for 5 months I would have thought it was bed bugs or scabies,,but I have..and so ...it cant be as i doubtit would take 5 months to manifest...I have also been celibate for 3 years so its not an STI..so i think its the water....as that would explain it as it would be a build up over time.

I have been eating more garlic and ginger, for…

Juicers and Blenders. please help me.

Hi everyone, I just ordered myself an omega 8006, i hear it makes good juices but i am a little worried because now I am hearing it is no good with nut milks.  I had the Omega 350vrt and took it back because i didn't like the cleaning process and how everything would get stuck.  Anyway I am now wondering if i should purchase a Blendtec or Vitamix for better nut milks.... the only problem is that they are so expensive.  Can anybody share some input on these two blenders?  and also if anyone…
