Day 24: Heavy heart :o(

So hard to say goodbye to my dear friend. Visitation was this evening. So difficult to see her children grieve. Our children grew up together. We shared so many life events and mile stones.

I miss her voice, her laughter. Our many talks through lifes good times and bad. I literally feel pain in my heart beneath my chest.

So hard to realize that I will never hear her voice again, see her smile and hug her neck. She was one of my very closest friends.

So today, yes I did…

Learning to eat all over again

Hi All,

My statement above is just that "learning to eat all over again" Its been 11 years since I have really eaten any good food for my health. yes I did eat, but mainly binged and ate dense carbs, fried foods and snacked on bbq shapes and potato crisps, a really bad recipe for disaster, weight gain and all the mood swings that goes with a toxic body, and not eating well is a very very bad habit to break, considering it stemmed over many years.

How I got to this place, I had…

Day 23: Getting things ready for Friday.

I am getting all my ingredients together for the food to take for Friday dinner at the church for my friends funeral.

This will be my partial day of regrouping here at home. Have been gone for two days nearly all day trying to get things done for my daughter and with my parents. I have to work tonight but at least I no longer have to work until midnight.

Getting ready to order Penni's Raw for the Holidays. I am not very good at computer stuff though. Hoping it is something I…

Day: 22: Picking up walnuts

Got another hundred pound of walnuts picked up yesterday.  These we are keeping to crack out. Nice big walnuts.

Thankful we got them picked up before the rain started.

Visitation and funeral are this Thurs and Friday for my friend. I will be making another pie and casserole to take for the dinner at church.

Going to take traditional food. I don't expect others to eat the way I do. I will educate anyone but I believe that the people who I can help will be the ones who are…

Day 21: Breathe, breathe, breathe

This weekend was a tough one. Lots of emotions and sad feelings. However, life must go on. Did alot of deep breathing and just relaxing as much as possible. Allowed myself to feel the emotions and release them.

Did not feel like eating much. So listened to my body and followed suit.

Ate almonds and drank water at work. It did the trick. I also ate vegeterian chili. Felt I needed something warm and soothing. Drank hot coconut milk with cocoa.

Today, I will put on a pot of…

Who Really THRIVES on a Raw Food Diet?

Here are my thoughts...

I don't think everyone does.

I believe 1 or more of these factors have to be present to really THRIVE on a raw food diet:

1.  You are sick and tired of being sick and tired.

2.  You just KNOW this is the BEST way to eat.  It feels clean.  It feels natural.  It fits our design (for me that means designed in a garden... given fruit trees and greens to eat).

3.  You…

Day 20: Sad day:o(

My long time friend, Kim passed away early yesterday morning. Her sister flew in from California and called me just before I was leaving for work. My heart feels heavy. I will greatly miss her. Her battle with cancer is done now. Her beautiful soul is in heaven and the Angels are welcoming her home.

Day 18 and 19: Busy

Did not journal yesterday, too tired. busy day and did not get to bed until nearly 2:30a.m.

Not much to say other than I am exhausted and have to get ready to go to work in a few hours. Then more work to do after I get off on the apartment. Not feel great, but got to keep going. No feeling very hungry. So will listen to my body and just go with it.

It will be busy now through Monday. Will not have a down day until Tuesday. Running low on sleep. So will be extra carefull about…

Day 17: Tired but finally sleeping better

I think I am finally relaxing more and sleeping. Amazing how stress can interupt much needed sleep. It has to do with cortisol levels being too high.

I have issues with this from time to time. Anxiety is part of that cycle. Recently having nightmares adds to it. I find that the best way for me to deal with it is to figurre out what is stressing me and eliminate that from my life. Stress is very detrimental to our lives in extreme amounts. Sometimes being around certain people…

Day 16: Chia seed pudding!;o)

Love my Chia seed pudding! I mix two tablespoons of chia seeds with a bit of coconut milk and cocoa and stevia. It makes a wonderful chocolate pudding for breakfast! Yum!

Later I will have my green smoothie and then head out to pick up black walnuts. My favorite time of year! Have done this since I was a kid. Wonderful childhood memories of picking up walnuts and taking them to the hauler. Of course we always save out enough to crack out for the winter. They make a great protein…

Raw Curiosity

Hello Raw Food Rehab! Thank you all so much for being so welcoming and reaching out and welcoming me! I'm curious about what the purest Raw ingredient or food there is on the earth? All of the chemicals and pollutants can contaminate foods even after they have been picked, so my question to everyone is what is the purest raw food?

Day 15: Can't sleep so typing this early a.m.

Just woke up and could not get back to sleep so decided to take advantage of the time and get day 15 blogg done.

Helped a neighbor get her garage sale items ready for this weekend. May be picking up walnuts today at my folks place. Not sure. Playing that by ear.

Need to sit down and figure out my budget for the rest of the month. Then pray for God to guide me each day. My budget is very tight but if I work it right I will have enough. Hoping to sale a few things to help out…

Day 14: Revelations!

wow! My weight has dropped another three pounds since I made changes to my routine! so thrilled! It seems to be working. I had been stalled for a few weeks and this has kicked things back into gear. varying my food intake every third day is working! so happy! This means I can have  more to eat on day 3 and my body likes this and so do I! So much easier to be good for two days when I know I can have a reward of cooked brown rice or a potatoe which I love love love! Whoo hoo! My Irish is…

Day 13: Weight is going down again.

So this is pretty exciting. I believe what I am doing is working. I am varying my food intake from day to day.on calorie intake. I believe the 10 day holiday between 90 day detox sessions has been great for my body.

Biggest challenge I have is getting in enough calories. So every third day I am allow myself complex carbs so my body does not think I am in a starvation mode. I am going to weight for the next two weeks to see the trend that is going on . Then I will ignore the scale…

Decided to do small entries here to keep track on my days but am logging my food intake and exercise on the other site. I think it is boring so can't see putting it here.

20 days low fat raw vegan challenge | day 1

Hei hei,

today is the first day of my low fat raw vegan diet. As i have mentioned in my previous post, i have been a raw foodist for a while, but this time i am going to make it a little different.

for these 20 days i am going to:

1) cut all the sweeteners (harsh, since i love honey so much)

2) cut the salt, oils, nuts, seeds and dried fruit

3) eat only raw fruits and veggies, drink juices and smoothies and raw soups

i expect to:

1) lose at…

Day 11: Cool weather and challenges it brings/Addendum

My usual breakfast is green smoothie with either Garden of Life protein added or SunWarrior protein.

I am shooting for two smoothies a day at this point.

Salads are my mainstay for dinner.

Snack is an ounce of nuts divided into two portions or half of the avacado.

This time of year I really crave warm foods. I do drink hot herbal tea which always helps. But I think this 90 days will be more of a challenge because of the cool weather.

How do you all deal…
