Take a Deep Breath!

You are never required to do more than you can do in peace.

Right now, take a breath, return to peace, and refuse to leave.

Differing Canons of Beauty

While in the United States gardeners are often persecuted for or prohibited from growing vegetables in the front yard, here in France, municipal gardeners showcase them resplendent in their beauty.  Here are some photos I took this morning in a nearby town.

Catching Up

I just returned from my 25th highschool reunion. I had an amazing time.. Don't lose contact with your roots- you may regret it someday. I do. I have spent far too many years depressed- lack of friends, lack of fun.. This weekend took care of that. I had more fun than I have had in over 20 years! Reconnected with old friends and family.

After the reunion I had the privilege of spending a few days with some old friends. Stan was a camp counselor at the church camp I went to for 7…

Feast Complete :)

It's over now.

I've eaten an apple this morning and a grapefruit for lunch; and I'm completely stuffed by the way.

I'm green juicin primarily today, with some seaweed salad later tonight for dinner! Yum! No intestinal irritation to speak of because I took an hour to eat the apple and 30 minutes for the grapefruit.

For some reason two pieces of fruit was almost too delicious! :^) (38 days will do that to you I suppose.)

Saturday I have someone making me lasagna…

Once More, With Feeling!

Hey All,

Well, here I am again. During the past year there have been a lot of ups and downs, but things seem to be evening out now.

Saw the dcoumentary, "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead," and it was my wake-up call. My ever-supportive boyfriend suggested we save up for a juicer, and we got an Omega a couple of months ago.

Last month I started what was going to be a 60-day juice feast, but I am settling for 30 and I will probably do a 30-day feast…

Juice Feast Day 38!

Today is the last day! (Not over but it feels like it!)

After 38 days on my feast it's OVER!

I look forward to solid food, but I'm also kind of sad to see it end in a way. I believe I could have easily did 60 days, but I'm good with the goal I achieved.

I learned a great deal on this feast. For one never think you've settled into a grove because your body can cry out for different nutrients that you just so happen to not be supplying to it.

My advice is…

Sweet Potatoes

My boyfriend is an organic farmer.  Well I say organic. Fertilizer is chicken manure. God's rain is irrigation.  No pestisides or steriods.  This year they have a bumper crop of Sweet potatoes.  They even dug one that was 7lbs.  I just baked some.  They are so sweet!!! So I need some recipes...sweet potatoe pies....sweet potatoe casserole...how to freeze them.  I need it all.  Thanks much!!!…

The Realm of Raw

I was the kid who couldn't leave the table because she hadn't eaten her meat. Rutabaga- eaten, salad- eaten, green beans- eaten, but meat...yuck!!! I've been a vegetarian most of my life, but have recently entered into the realm of raw. I founded an organic food co-operative in my younger years, organic gardened since 1975, assisted in home births and been a conscious consumer for many decades. I'm still navigating the waters of raw, but I know I feel so great when I do juice and water…

Feeding Kids Vegan

After reading the China Study and being more than intrigued by what I read, I wondered with my wife if we would be able to stop the kids from drinking milk and eating dairy and casein based products for one month. Any ideas on how we can feed 3 hungry boys a lunch that they will enjoy and not miss the animal products or the milk with the morning cereal. I know oatmeal and Cream of Wheat are prob good choices, but I am open to other great ideas. Thanks friends

Raw food (beginner) recipe book recommendation?

Hi!

If you were recommending a book to a friend of yours, in regards to beginning raw, what recipe book would you say?   (Either an e-book or paperback.)

It seems like there are so many recipe books out there; it's hard to pick.  And, for someone who's taste buds are new to raw,  I'm just wondering if you might share one you'd suggest.

Thanks

Juice Feast Day 35

I would say "piece of cake", "clear sailing" or "I got this covered", but I don't want to jinx myself again.

I had a stretch of hard days there for a while on this feast, but right now I'm cruising. I sort of would like to keep going, but I'm ready for solid food in two days. So on day 38 I'm breaking the fast.

One drawback to the fast was I have to go shopping for clothes now. (I know...awe, poor me huh?) Believe me, I've had worse problems so I won't complain. I…
