Apple Picking

So yesterday i went apple picking with my sister, after which we made some juice consisting of, beetroot, carrot, ginger and the apples of course :))  it tasted absolutely delicious! My sister has been gradually joining me on my eating plan, so we have been juicing together and now it seems my niece is about to join us.... amazing! It is not only important that we work on transforming our lives, but also in helping others to see the benefits of changing our diets and make lasting…

The Foods That Control Our Emotions

Hi peeps!

Lately I've been pondering on the roles that foods play in relation to our emotions. Before going raw I wouldn't have put much thought into this subject because my emotions were completely suppressed by the foods I had been consuming. Everyone is so different and each one of us react differently to certain foods. There was a period of time where I'd be mostly juicing and that's when I felt most vibrant, now I feel most energized when I start my day off with my Raw Chocolate…

I have been away from the Hab for a few weeks now and during that time i kept asking myself, 'When are you going back to the Hab?' .... needless to say i have been really lax in my eating plan and sadly have not kept up to my weight loss goals. However i am now back with a bang! ..... and having gone to a health seminar earlier this afternoon, i have gone out on a limb and invested in a high speed Blender, namely, The awesome Vitamix, i thought to myself, no kitchen should be without one,…

Juice Feast 18/100

The cold is here to stay and it is getting more challenging to not turn to something cooked.

I feel like hibernating and wake up on  Spring. It has to be one day at a time.

Have a great weekend.

Love and Light and Endless Blessings,

Juice Feast Day 17/100

Yesterday was day 17 (I'm writing this morning of day 18). I had a good day but I'm adding a lot more variety to my juices to keep me interested. I am also really pleased with how my piano is going. I'm not sure, but I'm starting to think that my body/mind learns more efficiently when raw or juicing. Things that I have been working on for months and years have just started to gel and I can't say that I've been practicing any different. I feel like I want to stay this way of eating for life,…

Life List

I know Penni's not keen on same day multiple blog posts, and I've never done it before, honest, Miss! And I'll (probably) never do it again, but I just wanted to ask if anyone has made a bucket list? All this thinking about cancer and mortality, got me thinking about life. And I came across a newspaper article snottily decrying bucket lists. Bucket Lists? I'd never heard of them. But when I looked into it, they're BRILLIANT!

When I looked at all the things other people plan to do and…

Mammogram or not...?

Just been invited for a mammogram (in the UK they're offered 3 yearly to all women between the ages of 50 and 70). My mother and one of my aunts died of breast cancer. My other aunt had a mastectomy at the age of 29, but is still alive and well in her 80's now.

Saw a genetics consultant (horrible, arrogant bloke) who dismissed the chances of genetic cancer risk on the basis that no-one else has had breast cancer in my family.

I had a mammogram a few years back which was ok, and…

May the Stats Be With You

In 1900, 1 in 100 people got cancer.  By the 1960's, it was up to 1 in 20.  Today, the numbers shock my pants off: 1 in THREE women in the US will get cancer, and 1 in TWO men will.

Regarding heart and vascular disease, the numbers are equally grim: 1 out of TWO men and women will die of heart and vascular disease.

Besides just stealing your health, cancer and heart disease also steal your money.  Even with insurance, long term care and surgeries bankrupt…

Juice Feast 17/100

I had a busy day, spent another 3 hours at the hairdresser and didn't come out with a perm but at least with some  waves LOL, I have also cut my hair a bit to remind me that is a new me ;-) I intend to cut it a bit every month until the end of the feast as  no turning back message.

Juicing with cold weather is not easy, making extra juice and store it in the fridge it out the question, I suffer a lot with the cold so I have to find other strategies to keep it going.

Juice Feast Day 16/100

The last few days have been a whirlwind. Managed to get finished decorating (nearly) and I unfortunately had to be offline for some of it, while I sorted my computer out.... I really missed blogging!

I have a new study and a new music room... finally. I have been practicing so much I am nearly ready for my exam yay!.

I haven't been juicing as well as I should have been though. I had a couple of slip ups which I feel terrible about. But I am back on track. I have counselling…

Juice Feast 16/100

Today I  went to visit an 80 years old friend, that is a sweetheart but can be challenging at times, especially when you tell her an idea that excites you and she just pours a bucket of cold water on it, because I am the type that does not answer back I usually eat... but this time I managed to control my frustration  and went shopping.

I was extremely lucky because even though I had to move the car 5 times ( to go to different places ) each time I found a free parking space,…

Juice Feast Day 30!

Day 30 is now been crossed off the calendar.

It’s been fairly easy the last week. I’ve been busy so that makes the day go by quicker. (I also met a girl and that always helps pass the time) ;-)

I’m still juicing and plan on quitting about day 37. Mainly because on day 40 I have a dinner date and I don’t want to sit there and sip water the whole time. I suppose it’s one of the better reasons to break your fast? I was only shooting for 30 days so I feel no sense of failure.…

Juice Feast 15/100

Took 3 big bags full of pre-loved objects including ALL my size 20 clothes to the charity shop meaning that at the moment my wardrobe is reduced to a dozen of items.

It was quite liberating to let go of my size 20 clothes that looked more like bags ( people assume that size 20 women don't have waist) .

I want to do another round to make sure that every size 20 is gone forever.

I was quite busy during the day so the day went by quickly.

A friend of mine…

Need Help with Juicers

Hello Healthy people! As a newbie to Raw Food Rehab I seek advice regarding Juicer/Extractors.  On Amazon the prices and features are all over the board, very confusing.  In addition to fruits, I want to juice spinach, cabbage, carrots, garlic and other veggies that require a particular type of juicer.  I look forward to suggestions from you raw food veterans!  Thank you.

Liver Flush advice, please :)

Hello Everyone!

I bought Elaina Love's liver flush protocol e-book, it seems great, but I'm wondering if anyone who has successfully done this could let me know what I CAN'T eat this week?   It seems unlikely I will only use the e-book recipes for meals, simply because I tend to freestyle a little bit more, and the e-book doesn't specify what to avoid.  I am drinking the malic acid and some other supplemental things that are required, and sticking with a raw vegan diet, but…

Juice Feast 14/100 Ana

Today I have been dreaming about  kale chips and any dried fruit or vegetable.

There are times that time seams to go fast others that it feels like it stops. Today it felt like one of those days.

At the moment I am removing all size 20 clothes from my wardrobe, I don't ever want to wear a size 20 in my life again.

That means that hardly anything is left but at least there is space for smaller sizes :-)

I sincerely hope the weather is better…

Juice Feast 13/100 Ana

It is raining cats and dogs in beautiful Chippenham, that means that the Winter is here and it's going to stay for a long, long time :-(

Today I cooked 2 lovely meals for my family and it feels really great to prepare everything and not feel tempted to taste it or eat it. It is such a sense of freedom to be able to see and smell food without desiring it. Something very interesting happens when I am on a juice feasting I tend to have more pleasure in cooking for my…

Am I the one observing my life?

I took some yoga classes, for the first time in my life,  at the Woodstock Fruit Festival this summer.  I was introduced to the idea that our thoughts come and go, but are not the real us.  I am captivated by this "thought".

If I am the observer of my thoughts and emotions, perhaps I can look at the maze…

Juice Feast 12/100

Got some more decorating done today. My trousers are so loose they are nearly falling off. But, still not convinced I'm losing yet since I still have a double chin, and a rather stubborn one at that. grr.

I did lots of painting and moving furniture. Was extremely tired this afternoon and this evening I'm quite hungry :( but I'm going to bed. I'll have a juice in the morning.

Night night to all!
