listening to my bodys amazing wisdom

you know I think it is so freakin cool that as we go further into this raw lifestyle we can actually hear our bodys better if we listen.

i went three days on smoothies, then caved in and had all raw salad with pumkin seeds. didnt overeat ya'll!

but what I did notice is that my body was not happy going back to foods so soon. I could feel in every fiber of my being that continueing on the liquids only was what my body really needed..

so here i am day one liquid only…

Whoa was I so scared!

Sooooo I made it up to Moms, a three hour drive which was lovely, absolutely lovely! I was hurrying so as to get to see her as soon as I could.

I got there and walked in and immediately heard her yelling out for my older sister! I ascertained she was in the bathroom with the door shut. Needless to say, she had fallen and was there for a long morning. She had not done her morning…

What I've Eliminated, Lost, Gained, and am Working For...

Hi guys :)

Well I'm feeling...ahh...about the same as yesterday but yesterday I was feeling a LOT better than the day at least things have improved!  With my body I never really seem to know what to expect, so at least some positivity is happening.

Also I have lost so much weight being on this flu...well, I think at least 4 of it was waterweight, as it was gone after the first day, but now I've lost 6 pounds and I'm down to 114!  And I don't keep…

Raw Balance

I hope to join next week....

$$ has just been too tight the last couple of weeks to make the payment.  I say that, but God has been so GOOD, I don't want to take ANYTHING away from HIM.  I attended Women of Faith last week and had to pay for my part of the hotel room (not much, but it could've covered my Raw Balance fee, lol (-: )  Anyway, after watching the videos, and hearing what has been said about Raw Balance, I feel like I want to join and even though I don't have the money this…

Triumphs and Mistakes

This week I have stayed 100% raw, juicy, liquid, and smoothie-ish.  Yesterday, I grilled for my family.  Those scents, touching the food, etc., etc. (I know, you're probably wondering when the "triumph" is coming.)  Well, the triumph for me was NOT licking my fingers when cooking.  Huge triumph for me.  I was thinking about this past week's Made to Crave study that…

My little kale sprouts are starting to shoot off their third leaves! EEEEEEEE! Maybe I'll get my husband to take a picture tomorrow...

And my garlic is starting to sprout! That's awesome, but it makes me wonder if I should have planted them a bit deeper... hmmmmm. At any rate, I have a bunch of seeds to try my hand at this spring. Lots of organics and heirlooms. It will all be in containers, and I have to figure out some way to leave room for my dogs out in the yard,…

Learning An Important Lesson...The Hard Way

What I am about to tell you I have heard from others.  Each time I read this type of story I may have thought the writer was exaggerating a little.  Now I know from experience that this is real and no exaggeration.  Uggh!  Last night I came home from work and my husband had smoked up a pork roast.  He did this because he was volunteered to cook for a big event at church and they requested pulled pork sandwiches.  He was doing a dry run to make sure that he had the timing right for such large…

Hello Everyone!

So, I'm wanting to recommit in a big way during this initiative, just take things to the next level and really make big changes in my life.  I know people have said that making videos has helped their process and kept them accountable, so I'm thinking of making a daily video.   I'm a little scared though!  The internet has a long memory, and you never know if I'm going to embarass myself!  At the same time, there is a chance that it would be helpful to others,…

Is it really possible????

In order to gain focus and vision for your remarkable future, your mind needs to be clear, fresh and focused.  You truly are what you eat and your thoughts, visions and health depend on it!  Keep adding in and enjoying whole foods and yummy goodness and continue to shy away from and slowly delete processed crap and take-out fast food from entering the pie-hole…YUP…if it’s in a box it has more chemicals than you can fathom and once you begin to eliminate all that garbage (excess sodium,…

Raw Is Not New

This is the cover from the July 1978 issue of this magazine.  The article was written by Jeff Cox.  He mentions enzymes, vitamins, leukocytes, the benefits of raw food for intestinal health, diabetes, cancer, referring to the work of John M. Douglass, Henning Karstrom, Rick Ingrasci, Michael Janson, Ann…

I'm looking forward to Raw Balance

Well finally it is almost time! I get paid Friday so I can finally sign up for Raw Balance. I know this is exactly what I need. I have been having a lot of stress at work and at home, and that brings on the comfort food cravings. I am really looking forward to this 11 week initiative. My biggest fear right now is that it will fill up right before I can enroll!

Our M.D. said Yes to B12 drops!

We went to see the doc today for a minor thing my husband had.  We have not seen him since our last yearly check up about 10 months ago.  While we were there we explained our change in diet to raw vegan and asked if we could get a B12 shot.

He said NO! and explained that while on SAD we never had trouble assimilating B12 so we won’t have trouble assimilating B12 being raw vegan either and that the drops you put under the tongue are perfectly fine.  He said if we want to do a…

Advice on Sprouting

Hi everyone! I have a request for you guys to advise me on how to best sprout seeds. My mom gifted me a nice big bag of chia seeds. Super excited to use them and wanted to sprout them in preparation for the 11 week initiative so I could add them to smoothies or salads. I tried my hand at sprouting them a few days ago on paper towel. They sprouted all right....but right through the paper towel. They were impossible to dislodge without getting some paper towel with it in the process and I really… Continue

my first entry

well, here is my first blog post and what has been weighing heavy on my mind (and body)  is that i can feel those old habits coming back more and more. i find it rather upsetting after doing so well for the month of october! i have a binging problem and when im 100% raw i find that food dosent control me. but when i allow myself something like a bite of cheese then my downhill trip begins. i have been struggling to return to 100% or even 90% for a few weeks. i have a smoothie in the mornings… Continue

Lets try this again!

So the last initiative ended badly for me...I didn't make it far at all. And now, after watching "sick, fat and nearly dead" and "food matters" and feeling quite toxic and on the verge of a sinus infection, I'm ready to try again.

I'm starting this one off with raw choc chip cookies which are chilling in the fridge and I've asked my family to support me to a 75% raw diet. I still believe it's important to share a meal with my family, but I've told them all were ALl Going to make better… Continue
