Ballet Background

I found myself thinking about my ballet shoes that are in the closet and have been in there for years. I used to be a dancer back in the day but quit some time ago and haven't had a dancer's body since. When I started dance lessons as a young impressionable girl they taught us about our figures and diet and keeping slim, of course not in healthy ways, as soon as my mother got wind of this she switched me to a different studio and gave up the dreams of the ballet academy. I am so thankful for… Continue

Decisions....decisions...

Every decision you make - every decision - is not a decision about what to do. It's a decision about Who You Are. When you see this, when you understand it, everything changes. You begin to see life in a new way. All events, occurrences, and situations turn into opportunities to do what you came here to do. - Neale Donald Walsch…

hamburger heart

i spent all morning writing cards to loved ones

on death dying and grave illness.

3 friends with strokes, a late stage cancer

2 more unrelated funerals this week.

and my step mom passed away on top of that.

sigh.

let the next month be quiet, pleeease!

OHmygosh a FIRST - i made raw recipe that actually tasted good!

So i make the most horrible raw things for Fam. He'll taste, even eat because it's FREE. He's pretty nice about it... he keeps the gagging to a minimum.

Fam is a 23 year old computer gamer dude who likes such as Megan Fox, Vasquez in "Aliens" and food such as hotpickpockets, cheeseboogers, diefries, cheeps & dip, peezza, stuff like that. (i am hoping the mispellings ruin any wayward appetites for that schtuff here : )

He likes them, but at least doesn't buy them thank… Continue

I Define Myself...

I focus all of my power and energy on the positive.

I live each and every day as the person I know I want to be. I don’t let anyone define me. I define myself. I understand that I am a winner. I know that I can achieve everything I want to achieve. This confidence leads to excitement. I can’t wait for the results that I know are soon to arrive. This excitement leads to even further motivation…

Week 4 weigh in and thoughts

Monday is my official weigh in so here it is: 176.1 lbs. down 1.6 lbs from last week and 6.9 lbs total in 4 weeks (in my head I round that up to 7!) BMI still 30.1, looking forward to next week when hopefully I will no longer be obese and I never have to be obese again! That is something I am going to celebrate!

The rest of my call shift was pretty easy, just a bunch of phone calls but I did get to sleep last night. Made an incredible dinner for my friend tonight as she was…

On Love

As some of you may have read, I published a blog the other day On The Importance of Hugging. In it I wrote that free hugs is "doing what comes naturally, offering unconditional love to people" and I received as a response (not here but on facebook) "giving love unconditionally is NOT natural. i'm just sayin'..."(sic), which I found disconcerting in a couple of different ways - or rather, I can't decide in which way it's disconcerting (other than the overwhelming negativity).

So I'd… Continue

Tortilla Chips

I know this is a terrible thing I do, but I eat corn tortilla chips as basically my salty, crunchy, carb fix. I was diagnnosed with celiac disease 2 yrs. ago. With that being said I eat no bread, grains, etc. I use the corn chips in place of breads. I eat them probably once a day. They are low fat and organic, but what can I use in its place that is raw,and easy to make? I am new to the whole raw food lifestyle.

Salad Week Vid

Here is one of the vids from last week. I kept getting errors when I tried to upload them last week but I was able to get this one up finally.

I did have a third salad (a Southwest Quinoa salad) but since I had cooked the quinoa I thought I should leave it out of the video. I bet it would certainly be a fun salad with sprouted quinoa though!

The broccoli salad didn't work. I just couldn't eat through the broccoli unless it was steamed, so there… Continue

Obtainable Goals

I like to set myself goals I know I can reach. Not necessarily ones that are too easy, or don't require work. By setting a goal for myself that I know with some effort and work I can reach helps put the goal in perspective. Upon reaching that goal I am so filled with pride and energy it pushes me to obtain the next goal I set with more oomph.

This has been a long learned lesson. For years I set these lofty goals that were so far from my grasp that I kept letting myself down. As I boost… Continue

Full of Purposeful Thought and Action

I can live a pressure-free, healthy life with focus, clarity, direction, and purpose.

I use my tools of centering, simplicity, direction and intention to remain healthy and light-hearted.

I am able to freely float through my day with peace of mind and a joyful heart. I feel this serenity because I have fortified myself with…

Ahhhh my blender died!

Ahhh no! my blender died.

Admittedly it was a 60 year old blender from my grandmother that i had used daily for raw food prep for a year including daily ltrs of green juice. It was a great old one with a real heavy glass jug and a heavy base etc. May it RIP :)

Now i am in a complete freak out attack. How will i do my daily juice or smoothies (the main stay of my raw diet)?

Obviously despite having no much cash im gonna have to get another blender and fast! In… Continue

Here's something a little different! I was finally able to get all the vids I made last week uploaded today so I'll post them over the course of the week. :)

Will YOU Say This?

"You must make a decision that you are going to move on. It won't happen automatically. You will have to rise up and say, ‘I don’t care how hard this is, I don’t care how disappointed I am, I’m not going to let this get the best of me. I’m moving on with my life." - Joel Osteen

On the Importance of Hugging

This is my first blog post at RFR!! How exciting!! I thought though that the subject matter of this blog would be quite well received here given the people that seem to frequent the place. :)

Today, I went Free Hugging in Glasgow City Centre. It was the second time I’ve ever done such a thing and the first time in Glasgow, and the person I was with had never done it before. We made our sign from a potato

crate and went from Sauchiehall Street, down…

Long Week

Last night my daughter was married. It is so bitter sweet and was such a beautiful event! This week I did all the baking. I am proud of myself. Not much snitching or licking. But there also weren't any green smoothies, green juices (any color juice for that matter), and no water. Not a lot of liquid anything. So I am grateful for only 1 pound gained. So this week it's back on track to a great weight loss for next week!

Courage to Live the Life I Deserve

It takes a great deal of courage to live the life I deserve.

Deciding to pursue the life I deserve is a decision I am ready to make. When I close my eyes and envision the life I want for myself, I can clearly see my life purpose. My life purpose is a journey designed for me.

Like any journey, mine begins with a first step. The first…
