How To Take Off 100 lbs (or MORE)! Ep 2 Homework

To sustain you through the hard times, you have to find your deep motivation--your Why.  Your Why is probably not what you think it is.  It is not usually related to appearance.  Whatever it is, it needs to be vivid and we need to make it crystal clear and able to be summoned at the smallest need.Human beings like homeostasis--that is, we like things to…

I have been LFRV low fat raw vegan now for a month and it is working so well for me!  I was raw several years ago for about a year and half but got so confused about all the cheesecakes and the fancy desserts which used nuts.  You see I would make them and then be the only one to eat them!  That's a problem- The only thing my children really liked was the berry jumble with a nut and date  crust.  I made it for Thanksgiving and several people put it in the microwave and put ice cream on top.…

How To Take Off 100 lbs (or MORE!) Episode 3- Preparation Is Key

How To Take Off 100 lbs or More- Preparation is key

  1. Clear your environment: empty out cabinets, fridge, freezer, all your hiding spots, your desk drawer at work, your car
  2. Clear your triggers: if you always eat popcorn while watching tv, switch to a bowl of grapes.  Stop watching commercial TV, it is full of triggering commercials.  Watch your shows on Netflix or Hulu instead. If you always…

How To Take Off 100 lbs (or More) Episode 1 Introduction

I created a YouTube video series where I show you what has been working for me as I’ve taken off 180 lbs so far.  As you can see, I’ve still got more than 100 lbs to go.  So we are going to do this together!

Really quick, to share my story, I have been fat all my life.  I was a cute fat baby, a chubby toddler, and then I was the fattest girl in…

5 years

Wanted to dash off a quick blog post to mark that I've been 80-85% raw for 5 years (not vegan though as I eat raw cheese, raw eggs, and occasionally cooked fish.)

I was feeling very grateful yesterday because I had some great food in the house after a shopping trip. Had all kinds of fruit, 4 types of organic greens, quail eggs, and supplements including a new one I'm trying out, which is moringa powder.I was thinking about what my now-self would tell my then-self from…

Instant Nut Mylk!

I find that making an entire pitcher of nut mylk, then filtering through cheese cloth or a bag is too time consuming these days (I have a new baby at home!). What I do instead is add 1-2 tablespoons of nut or seed butter (I like sesame tahini these days) and 6-10 ounces of water to a blender and voila!

No need to filter or store, just use right then for cereal, smoothies or drink alone. It's easy to add sweetener of your choice if you like, and some vanilla or almond extract too for…
