Baby Steps are still steps in the right direction!

Do baby steps get you anywhere or make a difference?  Consider that each day is a baby step toward a year.  A leaky faucet dripping only 1 drop per minute, for a year, wastes about 34 gallons of water.

Consider the key words "Increase the percentage of.."  to take baby steps, such as:

"Increase the percentage of.."  whole raw foods. Start each meal with an extra fruit or salad. Constantly cut  fruits and veggies up and serve on a plate. You can jazz it up with a dip, such as…

Water Fast

I wanted to start a water fast. I was planning on only going a day or two and then see how I feel. Any tips on making it more effective. Can I still use Chia seeds and call it a water fast?

Zucchini in the ice cream??

I went to a great class at our Whole Foods Market last Friday. My friend Kat Conrad does the class and she is always incredibly clever. She puts combinations of food together that you would never guess would work. This was one of them! Desserts are one of her specialties. I am not sure if she has her ice cream recipes posted yet or not on her website, but just click on her name to check.

The vanilla ice cream is made using a…

80/10/10 Newbie in Progress

So I'm one of these people that pay attention when they keep hearing things over and over. In the past 6 months 80/10/10 has been mentioned or I've been asked about it at least 5 times.  The last time one of my clients asked my my opinion and I responded I had no opinion since I hadn't read the book yet.

I had the book in my personal library but I just hadn't gotten around to read it yet.  While I was on vacation I read it, had a few light bulb moments, and after sitting…

An interesting poem about cleansing.

The Fast Complete

I have cleansed the tissues of my body today from head to toe;

I have sent the toxins flying, with courage, determination and pluck;

I have opened wide the windows to fresh air, rest and sunshine.

My bloodstream is now free from any muck.

I have cast away all dead and worn out cells that were no longer needed

And replenished them with young…

A juice feast in the works.

This is taken from my blog...

I was lucky enough to hear Dave the Raw Food Trucker speak this week at a local raw meet up.That is right, a raw vegan organic truck driver.  He has an amazing story of healing years of health problems with raw organic juices. You can hear his story on YouTube or at

I have been playing around with raw foods for about 3+ years. Although I am not vegan or even vegetarian, I…

Prescription drugs and why they don't fit in my cookie jars anymore

I just got back home this week from a 3-week trip to see family. It's hot here; it was a bit of a shock for both my cat and me when we got off the plane. Food wise the last 3 weeks were pretty much all over the place. It's not just family dinners. It's the stress I feel whenever I'm in my hometown. I got fresh produce as soon as I got back but right now I’ll have to go for vegan high raw but not fully raw. Something happened last time I was 100% raw, it felt great for a while but then I…

Good Morning guys. I feel pretty great. yesterday was a rain day here on the farm and we spent most of it hanging out together here....reading and playing board games. Needless to say I didnt get on here. Yesterday food wise went well, I mean I wasnt 100% but I ate the most amazing vegan dinner, and I am pretty sure my tastebuds are stil surprised. The bulk of it was Quinoa, which I have never tried cooking before. Amazing how it turned out. Awesome. I remeber trying it before and not liking…

My Doctor Does NOT Support Vegan or Vegetarian Eating...

I saw my hormone doctor the other day and he was asking how I was doing and I mentioned that I'd been juicing and incorporating a raw food diet into my daily eating for the past couple of weeks, and that I was feeling less sluggish, and my sleep patterns were greatly improved, and I just thought it was a good choice for me (not always easy, but something that seemed to make a positive change for me).

Much to my surprise, he pointed out to me that this was not a healthy way of…

I was blessed last evening to meet Dave for the first time in INDIANAPOLIS INDIANA, and I can not describe how totally way cool  it was to be able to meet him, listen to his story in person, and even get a couple of hugs!  Whoop, Whoop!  :D

Dave asked me to tell each of you hello, and that he misses being here.  He said that he is super-busy right now, he is doing a lot of traveling around, to speaking engagements,…

Day 4 of new juice feast/fast

Hey there everyone!!! I'm so excited, I'm on day 4 of a new juice feast/fast. As you know I did another juice feast/fast last month and returned to 90% raw food, because of the price of the juicing.Well the arthritis in my lower back/tailbone has me running back to the juicing as long as I have a way to pay for it. The back pain lessened somewhere between day 2-4. I mean i could not get out of the bed during the night. In the day I was okay, after i showered but, at night I couldn't hardly…

Tahini, hemp oil, or flax seed oil?

Hi all,

Everyone seems to know this already, forgive me for what might seem like a silly question:

what is the gist on these oils?

Is one more recommended in the raw world vs. others?    Have only ever tried flax seed (smoothies).

  - I know to look for cold-pressed (meaning raw?)

 - but, what is the difference essentially between these?

Looking to use as base for salad dressings.

Thanks so…
