When it rains--it pours...but I love rainy days!

Last week I spent only sleeping hours at home, the rest of my time I spent helping my mom at the hospital as my dad underwent some artery stenting procedures. He's home now and recovering well.

day 21 of 77- lost 2 lbs and starting a juice feast

so i lost 2 lbs this week, the inches are still sliding away...i'd like to loose it faster, but heck, i've lost 10 lbs in 3 weeks(and many inches), that's great progress! i had my niece here today...she is such a sweetie, but hasn't been feeling great- i think her brothers had a bug that lasted 1-2 days at one point last week, this week she and connor had it...declyn is fine so far, but sometimes he is a day or so behind connor and sometimes they won't even get sick from one another. today…

closing my eyes in order to see clearly

At yoga on Wednesday the instructor set the intention for the class of "letting go." We spent

some time doing hip opening which felt really good. I definitely hold

onto tension in my hips so it's always helpful to release some of that. I

seriously could have stayed in class for another hour!



Thursday's class had a different instructor but she set the same intention

Over Eating ! Sometimes I still do it...but I do it RIGHT!

Real quick...



When I first went raw...I was starving. So I let myself "OVER EAT" but only raw vegan things (excluding nuts, i kept those in moderation) Everyone has a different story, but I came to realize that my fat body was starving for nutrition...and I needed to eat... A LOT.



Some days I would eat 6 -8 heads of romaine lettuce. I did use very low fat or no fat dressing such as vinegar...maybe a little olive oil. Yes it was boring.

Letting Go......

I am cleaning my office today and came across my Weight Watchers Lifetime Membership booklet. I have held on to this booklet (that tracks your weight at each weigh-in) since December 14, 1994. Today's the Day!

Ben's going away to help someone replace their roof. He's not done that before, so I am nervous, and he'll be gone during the actual flush part of the cleanse. That makes me nervous, too.

Just curious about some things for all you who have went RAW as a way of healthy eating. As I am starting this new approach to eating healthier, what can one expect in terms of noticing weight-loss? Down 8 pounds in 21 days and 26 since March 20th!

MIA - Still Plugging Away

I've been MIA from RFR for a bit.



I come in from time to time and look at all the posts.



I haven't been doing excellent, but I do good where I can. I'm still getting at least one juice in to me every day and try and stay with the salads and the fruits as much as possible.

day 20 of 77- 3 weeks 100% raw -great day

ok, so i was all excited to see the sun today, then connor seemed really tired and sluggish- he had a little fever, but after 2 naps (he slept almost all morning) his fever broke and he was feeling better so i let him sit in the backyard in a chair and watch me do 1/2 hr of poi spinning...after lunch-he really did seem to feel a lot better and the fever was gone, so we figured as long as he stayed in his stroller and was kept warm we could run out for a trip to the hardware store and to the…

Zumba!

I have found my fitness love! Zumba!! I never thought I could shake my hips and look good doing it, but I can! Zumba is so fun and it is a KILLER workout if you work it. Last night, I burned 500 calories in one hour. Dang! I couldn't believe it! I've been going to classes pretty consistently and I burn between 350 and 500 calories in an hour. Heck, I love it so much that I actually bought dance sneakers so I could really let it all hang out. Doing it in trainers is a bit risky... they just… Continue

Still buzzin.....

So even though I am physically a bit tired after quite a run around day, I am still on this raw buzz I have had for two days now. I am so thankful too because tonight is the first challenge of this week. I am going to a fundraiser for a County Sheriff and it is taking place at a local restaurant I have been hoping to try. Where can I find medicinal mushrooms?

I went to hear David Wolfe speak last night. He spoke at length on the benefits of cacoa, fresh from the earth spring water, goji berries, and medicinal mushrooms. I dont' know much about them except from what I learned last night. Anyone use medicinal mushrooms? Do you buy them, find them, grow them?

I want to be a member of the Push Your Plate Away Club rather than the Clean Plate Club.

Even though I am 100% raw I am still eating too much. I need to stop before I am FULL!

How did you get into this club?

Do you have any hints or suggestions on how to get into the club?

Sure...I am overeating on salad or juice but too much a good thing is still too much!
