Tonight, I had my daughter take some pictures of me because I am planning on joining the Vault 2.0. I've lost 70 lbs so far eating a high raw diet. Great, right? But the pictures...ugh. They reveal just how far I still need to go.
In my head, I don't care what I look like, I just know that its better than I looked 70 pounds ago. I didn't start doing this to be cute; I did it to save my life and be around for my kids. I did it because I deserve to be healthy, and free to live my life… Continue

I'm working 10-hour days to make up for having Monday off (to see my knee doc), and now that I have company coming, I'm spending my evenings cleaning. Tonight:
- Cleaned all 3 bathrooms (mine is going to need more scrubbing)
- Went to the barn to watch my daughter ride; she's going to show in the Bareback Equitation class (if my knee doesn't complain too much, I'm going in the Egg and Spoon class myself!).
- Went to the grocery
Got home about 9:30; have… Continue

Today is the day to start incorporating more raw foods. Getting a routine is the goal and hopefully it will get easier. I'm starting with Raw Food Made Easy by Jennifer Cornbleet. Following her suggestion to make two pates and two dressings for the week. Making her ranch and lemon herb dressings as well as the Not Tuna Pate and Zucchini Hummus. Okay raw adventure....take me away!!!!!!

So, I have a pretty knarly sore throat. I can't be sick this weekend, or even for the rest of the week! Took an Advil PM last night and even now, at 9:30 in the morning, I'm still trying to wake up. Planning on babying myself until its time to leave for church at 2:15. Time to drink up my Vitamin C! But really, all I want to do right now is drink tea and chill on the couch. Not sure I have the energy for juicing this morning. Well, at least I don't have to worry about exercise for the next… Continue

Good morning! The sun in shining in Seattle and it's going to be a great day :)
My brother is in town visiting - one of his friends is in a band and they have a CD release show tonight. It will be fun to go see them play.
I'm thinking about taking tomorrow of work to hand out with my brother more before he leaves town tomorrow night. The only thing is that I'm already taking Friday off, so I'm not sure I can take Thursday off as well. I'll see how much work I can get done… Continue

I have been pretty much high Raw this week so far and on the 6th week total! I did have a two "processed, cooked snacks" on Monday night. But then got back on it and did 100% Raw on Tuesday! I feel wonderful and fighting a cold so considering, I can't complain.
We have took on my 15 yr old niece. She is now living with us, We has never has never has rules, discipline, or structure. It is going to be a huge challenge. She has ALWAYS ate junk and processed foods including… Continue

Okay, I made it through the night with NOT eating crap! I did some beauty treatments and fluffed my pillows, sprayed some linen smell-good stuff on my bed, inhaled essential oils, rubbed dead sea salt on my feet, drank a big glass of lime water and snoozed all through the night. I woke up this morning before my alarm went off, feeling awesome and ready for the day. I had my first raw smoothie, which consisted of a cup of water, 4 apples, 3 carrots and a teaspoon of ginger. I couldn't quite… Continue

So I finally have a camera and a charger available now, so it will be easier to post pics. I am charging the batterie right now.
So here are the things that happened for me in the 11 weeks of working on eating raw:
*I think my skin looks healthier
*my cronic planter faschitis went away(this is huge as it has bothered me for many years and often when I would exercise it would aggrevate it and I could not continue.)
*pain in my knees… Continue

I was super jazzed about starting boot camp this morning! I was like a little kid on Christmas Eve...just waiting for it to be time to get up! I really wanted to kick their butts :) During warm ups..the executive director..my boss...yeah...he's in the class :)...commented to someone else...if this is a warm up...I'm afraid of what were going to do! One thing we did was 100 squats...in a row :) I didn't let them know how many we were going to do..I just started counting. Always need that element… Continue

Not knee replacement (yet), but the doc wants to scope my knee and "clean it up a bit." I'm waiting on pins and needles to hear from the nurse; they had to call my insurance company to OK this in advance. I can't imagine they'd deny it, especially since I've already done Synvisc (which they didn't want to pay for, thank you very much for nothing) and physical therapy (twice). It's probably just as well I didn't hear back today; I really should check my work schedule and see where I can take… Continue

I have been giving this a lot of thought and April has 30 days so that is when I will start. This gives me time to PLAN. Remember if you fail to plan you plan to fail. How many of us are guilty of this (raises hand).
I want to plan desserts well yes they are important!!! Then I will plan the rest of my meals around them LOL.
I want to prepare my weeks main meals in 2-3 preps so that It does not have me… Continue

I enjoyed a few raw foods yesterday, rather than just juice. It was yummy but I think too much fat was involved. I need to remember a serving size of avocado is not 1 1/2 and a serving size of olive oil is NOT 1/4 cup!
I have struggled my entire life with portion control. Whether is be meat and taters or full on vegetarian, portions have always been too large. Even when I was all raw a few months back... too much of a good thing can still be too much! I think this phase on my… Continue

My name is Jessica. I'm not too sure how this works, as far as the computer navigation goes. I was referred here by Renee (sp?) at Living Foods Institute in Atlanta. She said she was on day 8, I think, of juicing raw and she's lost 13 pounds. I was so excited when she told me about this site. I don't feel much support doing this on my own and I soooo want to be healthy! I can't get under 200 pounds, there's some sort of block. I work my butt off at the gym EVERY DAY and even have a trainer 2 -… Continue
