Orange Pulp?? Help!
OK peeps. I need help. I make fresh OJ for the whole family a few times a week now, since it's something we all love. Sometimes I throw in some pineapple to jazz it up. :)
I have about 2 cups of orange pulp sitting here on my counter and I refuse to compost it again. I've been searching here (The Kitchen) and various raw chef websites looking for dessert (frozen?) or cookie recipes. I'm just not finding any ideas, if you can believe that. Lots of breads and crackers for…

Smokie Salad Crispies
SMOKIE SALAD CRISPIES
formerly: Amazing Homemade Vegan RAW Bacon
(adapted from No Meat Athlete)
I saw this recipe online and I thought... Hmm... this would make a good RAW recipe! So, I adapted it from baked and fried to dehydrated. I think this would be great crumpled on top of a salad or on top of a raw patty!
1/2 cup dried adzuki beans, or other small red beans
1/3 cup whole grain buckwheat groats (not buckwheat flour)
1 tsp onion powder
1/3 tsp…

I like Ron White, he's funny. Especially when he talks about his bulldog and how he stuffs m&m's in his jowls while he's sleeping. When the dog wakes up and realizes he's got m&m's in his mouth, he's happy and seems to say "It's gonna be a good day tater!"
Well it's been a good day because I got to spend the majority of the afternoon in the kitchen. Today is Raw Food Monday for our family. I have made several things...
Fiery Carrot Avocado Soup - from Cafe…

Spicy Chili Marinade for Spouts or Mushrooms
This turned out amazing! I didn't measure anything but I'll give you some approximations of what I put in there.
SPICY CHILI MARINADE
* First Cold Press Olive Oil (I used about 2 Tbs.)
* Apple Cider Vinegar (1 Tbs.)
* Chili Powder Spice Blend (1 tsp.)
* Cumin (1/2 tsp.)
* Garlic Powder or Fresh Garlic (1 clove) if you have it (I used between a 1/4 tsp. and a 1/2 tsp. powder)
* Cilantro Flakes or Chopped Fresh Cilantro (I used 1 tsp. of dried…

Tip of the week from "The Raw Food Trucker"...1 lb. of green's a day help's keep the doctor away...
Did U know there is as much "Digestible protein in a 1lb. dark green leafy salad as there is in a cooked 1lb. "T" bone steak!! I get many people telling me they don't like Salad's...I can relate as I am one of them, also 1lb. of dark green's is a lotta salad to eat...so ladies if your other half doesn't like salad's try making a juice...For me its a lot easier to drink 1 lb. of dark greens than it is to eat them especially if your not "into salads"...

What I can see from where I'm standing!!!
Hello ALL,
I sat down at my computer today and thought I would share an A HA moment with all of you...
This goes back to sometime in Oct. or Sept. of 2010, but has energy in the now... I have struggled…

R2E - Day 59 (it ain't pretty, it just tastes that way)
Okay, that was a lame play off of the Northern Pikes' 1990 hit "She Ain't Pretty".
But I digress...
I just finished lunch. I had caesar salad with coconut bacon minus the raw-mesan sprinkles (I totally forgot them!) all tucked inside of an amazingly tasty tomato wrapper. I could not believe how good this was. I took a picture but it was not blog-worthy (hence the title of today's post).
The simplicity of the wrapper is incredible....just…

R2E - Days 57 & 58
Let's just pretend this weekend didn't happen.
Okay, things weren't "that" bad, but it certainly wasn't one to write Mother about.
I did get the treadmill set up and most of the kinks worked out (I had some issues with the belt off-center and running crooked...that's what I get for "tinkering").
I also got picked out a great looking recipe from Ani Phyo's Raw Food Essentials to start the week off with. It's a caesar salad with coconut bacon…

Buying Vegetables For One
Well, my food experiments over the weekend didn't turn out all that great, so I won't post any recipes. I did make several things I was able to eat, and I felt really good with mental clarity and energy. Note to self: don't make a 1-serving soup with half a leek--it will be too hot and onion-y to eat, and you will burp onion breath for an hour or two at least.
That brings me to an annoyance. Why can't I buy small portions of some veggies…

fortune cookie wisdom
Hello my RFR friends!
I've been living in a sea of clutter and am happy to say that I'm finally taking action. I'm cleaning the house tonight! I have many unpacked boxes, the physical manifestation of all kinds of avoidance, and am sitting here digging through, deciding what to keep and what to throw away. I don't want to be burdened with all of this dead weight.
The reason I popped on the computer to blog is that I found a little pile of fortunes I'd saved,…

Day 4 Juice Feasting
Day 4 Juice Feast
Well gallbladder flush seemed to go pretty good. I was so tired last night that I didn't do my dose of Epsom salt before I did my grapefruit and olive oil mixture so my stools were hard this morning so I did a dose of Epsom salt and a coffee enema. I have been passing gall stones on and off through out the day. I have felt full and bloated also. I am sure that it is…

Mommy Blogs and what ive realized today...
First, before I even get started, I would like to thank TREESA for helping me to understand myself a little better.
Ok. So. Here we go. I had a friend on FB make a post about a girl who did a review on some Mormon Mommy Blogs. Now the review wasnt really interesting, but these women seemed like they would be. So I went to a few of their blogs to check them out. WOW. (Disclaimer: I realize that a lot of people would only put up the happier, fun times in their lives.. but…

Vegan sloppy joe and Veganloaf need an update!!
So, I have been making veganloaf and vegan sloppy joes for YEARS now. But I havent figured out how to make it all raw. I was hoping someone would be able to help. I made the sloppyjoe today. Its soybased (cooked) and what I added to it to make it much more raw was blended sundried tomatoes with some garlic (this was my "tomato paste") then I added chopped: tomato, cilantro (tiny bit), mango, zucchini, onion, red pepper a little lime juice and peaches (little) I mixed the chopped raw salad…

So so happy--------------------
yesterday I took fate into my own hands, and threw away my scale. It was an old one and not even accurate, but I was letting it control my life.
I am keeping a food log and getting lots of exercise. Pounds don't come off so easily when you are 57!! But I know for sure that next time I get around the doctor's office, I won't be embarrassed to get on the scale, but curious to know
"how much did I loose?"…

I am really seeing a change in my body. The scale says I'm almost losing 1 lb per week, and my body is subtly contracting - I can see it in the shower. It's like a sculpture within that is slowly coming to shape. It's a shape I remember, and it is really GREAT. My skin is also wonderful all over the body. I've got softer, smoother skin than I've had since I was a child. I think my skin started to get much rougher at about age 10 - after I went through all the hormonal changes and…
