No rigid rules, labels or dogmas.... just REAL food, for your body, mind & soul!
Wednesdays are always so weird for me because it is the one day per week that I work in the morning. It completely changes how I approach eating. Day 30 brought me:
Apples with Almond Butter
Handful of Blueberries
Raw Vegan Nori Rolls
I'd post a picture of the Nori Rolls but I cannot find my chord that connects my camera to the computer. Only one day to…

So…citrus season is in full effect! Which means there is a lot of this going on at my house:
Oh, yeah! Nothing like a good citrus haul! Gotta get in those grapefruits and oranges this time of year!
I mean, it is pretttty awesome that citrus season shows up during the time of year when people need these fruits the most! Did you know that citrus fruits are super-amazing at breaking up mucus in…Continue
Found this interesting recipe on the internet and switched it up a bit...
HOMEMADE PROTEIN POWDER
Protein powder can be added to a variety of dishes, such as oatmeal and casseroles, or used as the key ingredient in a protein shake to boost your protein intake. Commercial protein powder can be costly and may contain ingredients you are not fond of. By making your protein powder at home, you can make a small portion of powder at a time and control the overall quality of the…
3 weeks in and still made a few "mistakes"... However each week, I'm learning and finding how much I love this lifestyle. This week I experimented w/ new recipes and love"
portobello mushroom burgers
broccoli w/ vegan dressing
Cauliflower w/ vegan dressing
Where I am needing the most improvements is with limiting my fat intake. The first week I lost 3 lbs. The past week I lost 3 lbs, but then gained it back this morning (probably after eating a mega…Continue
Is the pasteurized version of soursop as effective as fresh. I live in Huntsville AL and I am pretty sure we do not grow those fresh I have found a frozen pasteurized version and was curious about it. What are the other healing or medical benefits of this great fruit?
It is soooooo close to the end of this month and I cannot believe how fast and relatively easy it went! I have learned so much about myself and I now am certain that plant based vegan diet is the way I need to go to feel my best. Once January is over I am not going to be as strict about being 100% raw as I was for January. I plan to eat very high raw with some cooked vegan food every once and awhile but there is no need for me at this point to set strict rules for myself on…Continue

Wow--I tell you guys, wow. I don't know why this is, but for the last week or two, I haven't felt cold at all. And it's the dead of Winter here in Michigan (well, we are having a really off year weather-wise, but let's just say 2 or 3 days ago, it was negative something outside. Yeah, that's right. Below zero. And I was still having this..."problem"--I'll quote it because it's not the worst problem to have :P).
I am literally blazing hot. I am sitting here right now, in the…Continue

Hi all....well I moved...its a nice warm place and I cant complain :)..however the job that I got has gone...I set up all the Social media advised as to what to do..wasnt really listened to re asking for campaigns and the need for teamwork... and my web editor wasnt communicating with me well...anyhow...they took all I advised and everything I knew....then got someone else in and hired an outside agency to do it, and I was fired !....nice eh ?...so I am back on the dole.
I didn't blog yesterday because I was an idiot and hurt myself. I apparently thought it would be a great idea to kick the wall and almost break my toe. Man did that hurt. The past couple of days I have not been really hungry. I am so glad I did this little challenge, my body is seriously happy with me right now. So what did I have to eat the past couple of days:
Oww yesss I'm feeling great.
My fridge (normally for beer) is green allll green and some beautiful colors of reds and orange.
Started my juice on 114.7kg and now 109.4kg. I love the miracle thats coming out of my juicer.
Have a nice day Rehab friends
I am so proud of my husband. He weigh himself a few days ago and had lost 11 pounds so far and more even so now.
Today he is going to start adding in a least 1 regular meal a day and he might start adding in 2 meals while continuing to juice the rest of the day.
I'm still sticking to the 3 meals a week until I get to goal but I got to say, I am so happy that this has been working for us and now, at least one of us, is starting to transition and my day will come…Continue
This past weekend I had so much fun doing a video shoot with Host, JE Anzalone for "What Matters Most" Talk Show. Get this - JE (Eric) is also the leather biker dude from Village People! Who'd have thunk it!
I've been singing YMCA and Macho Man in my head for days now!!! I had a blast showing Eric the…Continue
For the life of me I cannot remember what I ate for breakfast yesterday. I had to work at the co-op last night so when that happens I tend to forget to write down what I ate and when. I do remember what I ate for lunch and dinner though:
Bean-Free Pine Nut Hummus on Cucumbers
Raw Pesto Crackers topped with Avocados, Sprouts, and Cucumber
A couple of Dates
I was soooo thirsty yesterday and I know I did not get enough water. We…Continue
So this year my new year’s resolution was to make 1 simple change each month to move from a meat & processed foods diet, towards a raw vegan lifestyle.
I started January with green smoothies each morning, (after a recommendation on Better Raw amazing YouTube videos!) which I kept up until Monday when I started a new job. By the end of this week I was feeling sluggish, my digestion was all mixed up, all my acne had come back, and I started craving loads more…
I wanted to share some things I found along the way in my journey back to healthy eating......I found out that eating disorders or unhealthy eating is caused by emotional and physical toxins....at least for me... being a incest survivor and only very recently working on breaking the patterns of abuse....I realized why this whole food thing has been so hard for me...
I literally stuffed the emotions down.Yes there is so many pathogens that we are being exposed to more and more every…Continue
We are still in a cold snap here in Minnesota and it is not fun at all. Today I had a pretty good day... it was date night with my husband. I am finding that I am craving some cooked food, but not the kind of food I would have craved before I started doing this. I now know that for me meat and dairy and I do not get along very well as do gluten and I. Once January is over if I do eat any cooked food it will be gluten free and vegan. It will be interesting to see how my body reacts to…Continue
Nothing momentous about this day, except I have decided to become accountable for how I take care of myself. I am taking a course in Nutrition every Saturday morning and, coincindentally, the first full session of that class starts in one hour. The first session was largely administrative, where we received a few homework assignments that are to be completed over the course of the class and those assignments include
** a 24-hour food journal with nutritional analysis,
I had a hard time getting my act together today. I don't know what it was, well I do have a theory. We got a new white noise sleep CD and I had such a hard time waking up. I am going to blame the CD because I can! Haha! I noticed an interesting change last night. Ever since my first miscarriage I've had heart flutters (or murmurs I guess) and a racing heart beat. The doctors really didn't have any advice for me and said it was all stress related. Anyways I noticed that I haven't…Continue
