January 31

The day started with a very large green smoothie, and quite a nasty bit of traffic.  Lunch included some rice and quinoa, and some dried apricots without sulpher dioxide (not raw), but otherwise I was raw today.  My huge salad for dinner just felt heavenly, and I noticed that the flavors were far more enjoyable than I really remember greens being in the past.  Tomorrow I start the 28 day Raw Cleanse - perfect.

Starting tomorrow and birthday cake

So I saw this bakery and went inside and bought a dozen doughnuts, scarfed them down in the car, followed by a giant coke, then I went to mcd's and got a couple of quarter pounders, and 2 more cokes, and a chocolate milkshake and.. and... Nah, Not really, but that makes the little piece of birthday cake I had at my sisters house seem pale in comparison, doesn't it..  :)  

 

So I'm stoked about tomorrow!!!  Starting the 28 day cleanse.. woot woot!

RRRRRready to Rrrrock some new Resolutions

Hello RFR peeps! It's the eve of the 28 day total reset cleanse, and I've got some specific plans to amp up my personal rehab progress.

First of all, I've got to give yself a wee pat on the back, as the first month of 2011 I made some very positive changes by eating over 90% raw, going to yoga class every day but one in the month, and making a higher commitment to my new raw life by purchasing the big three (dehydrator, vitamix and juicer)

day 31 -- let's do this!

Hi Friends!



I had a great, raw day today, just veggie juices and chia pudding. Fun! I made chocolate flavored pudding for the first time, using raw cocoa powder -- it was good! I may like the vanilla more though. Never thought I'd prefer a non-chocolate item. Ha!



I'm getting increasingly excited about the juice detox, even though I am nervous. I'm revisiting my health goals and realizing that eating lots of heavy raw foods each day may not be what I need right now. I will… Continue

Anyone get sick?

Hi All-

  Yesterday I decided to go all "gung-ho" with several bowls of Energy soup, in my preparation for the Juice Cleanse that I signed up for in February.  Unfortunately, I think I forced some major de-toxing, because I ended up throwing up for hours on Sunday.  It was bad.  I finally had to take an anti-emetic to get the retching to stop last night.

 

  Sorry for crossing the line into TMI, but I admit I'm a bit shakin' up  by it.

R2E - Day 31

Today I debuted my "Raco Salad"!

 

It wasn't bad for my first attempt.  The base was *raw corn toritllas, topped with romaine lettuce, a walnut & almond based taco "meat" (from Ani Phyo), then a diced green bell pepper.  I topped all of this with *queso (cashew) cream and a raw taco sauce (1/4 C wayer, 1/4 C vinegar, 2 T chili powder & 2 T cumin).

eats today and more raw for me.

I am going even higher raw for this month, and maybe beyond. I have had some symptoms come back and get stronger that were not as strong when I was all raw. I also am a little frustrated because I added beans into my diet to get more iron and I got my levels tested and it was lower. So obviously beans were not a magical fix.

 

I'll try to blog my daily eats once in awhile because I realize it can be very helpful for newbies.

day 31 of R2E 2011- 1/31/11 (on the brink of the 28 total reset cleanse)

ok...i did my grocery shopping...i loaded up on greens and fruits and veggies for my week of juicing. the only thing i wanted to get but am missing is a tongue cleaner, but i may just have to settle for brushing my tongue with a tooth brush.

Raw Food Cleanse - Day 3

Well, I did make it through the 3 day cleanse!!! At the Brink of Starting

I have a juicer in the mail, on its way, I bought some fruits and veggies, the basics of my small repitiore, nonetheless they are there, Im excited, slightly cautious, but I am at my heaviest 165 for 5'1" is not good, Im currently at a size 12 and am hoping to slim down, to get a hold of my asthma and brink SEXY BACK!

Here I am, back again...

It's been almost a year since I checked in here.  I can't quite recall what got in the way of completing the 28 days last year, but this year I am here with my husband for support, as well as a couple of friends from Facebook who came here independent of me.   I also have Penni's book and have had my husband read it as well, so that is advanced on where I was, preparation-wise, last year.

Spicing Juices ~ Wow!!

Saturday I juiced for the whole day in the morning.  This was the first time I've done a days worth at once and I do kinda like getting it all done and cleaned up on one session.  My only dislike was the same juice all day, so I started thinking about spices to change things up.

need your help--which is better to make veggie ribbons and which to make veggie spaghetti?

i think adding uncooked zucchini ribbons with 'some' pasta and a cooked sauce can work to get my family to be more accepting of raw--i don't think going cold turkey on them is going to work....

combinations of cooked and uncooked foods...yes, my family might be  'less pained' that way...(yes, my family is all drama--lol)

The day before!

Today is the day before the 28 day juice and smoothie feast!  I am very excited and ready to take on the challenge! I have just put in my order at the wholesale produce market for cases of organic limes, oranges, blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, grapes, thai coconuts, ginger, celery, cucumber, romaine, red peppers, carrots, cilantro, kale, spinach, tomatoes and parsley.  I already have grapefruit, apples.  I think I am all set!!  What about all of you?
