The day started with a very large green smoothie, and quite a nasty bit of traffic. Lunch included some rice and quinoa, and some dried apricots without sulpher dioxide (not raw), but otherwise I was raw today. My huge salad for dinner just felt heavenly, and I noticed that the flavors were far more enjoyable than I really remember greens being in the past. Tomorrow I start the 28 day Raw Cleanse - perfect.

So I saw this bakery and went inside and bought a dozen doughnuts, scarfed them down in the car, followed by a giant coke, then I went to mcd's and got a couple of quarter pounders, and 2 more cokes, and a chocolate milkshake and.. and... Nah, Not really, but that makes the little piece of birthday cake I had at my sisters house seem pale in comparison, doesn't it.. :)
So I'm stoked about tomorrow!!! Starting the 28 day cleanse.. woot woot!
Hello RFR peeps! It's the eve of the 28 day total reset cleanse, and I've got some specific plans to amp up my personal rehab progress.

This is my 5th 11 week initiative. The first three were solid, the third I posted my best results, the last one of 2010 was not the best, and the first four weeks of this one hasn't been the best either. Yesterday I decided to go all "gung-ho" with several bowls of Energy soup, in my preparation for the Juice Cleanse that I signed up for in February. Unfortunately, I think I forced some major de-toxing, because I ended up throwing up for hours on Sunday. It was bad. I finally had to take an anti-emetic to get the retching to stop last night.

Today I debuted my "Raco Salad"!
It wasn't bad for my first attempt. The base was *raw corn toritllas, topped with romaine lettuce, a walnut & almond based taco "meat" (from Ani Phyo), then a diced green bell pepper. I topped all of this with *queso (cashew) cream and a raw taco sauce (1/4 C wayer, 1/4 C vinegar, 2 T chili powder & 2 T cumin).

I am going even higher raw for this month, and maybe beyond. I have had some symptoms come back and get stronger that were not as strong when I was all raw. I also am a little frustrated because I added beans into my diet to get more iron and I got my levels tested and it was lower. So obviously beans were not a magical fix.
I'll try to blog my daily eats once in awhile because I realize it can be very helpful for newbies.

i think adding uncooked zucchini ribbons with 'some' pasta and a cooked sauce can work to get my family to be more accepting of raw--i don't think going cold turkey on them is going to work....
