Ok I'm a little way into my anti-candida cleanse, I've fallen off the waggon and got back on again more times than I would like to admit, but I'm sticking with it. At the moment I'm well and truly ahead and I'm feeling lots better.  I even managed some fruit at the weekend with a smaller than usual reaction :)  I wouldnt normally have some but my cousin had prepared stacks for me especially and it looked so yummy....... The only thing I am still struggling with is my bloody sugar levels, does…See More

Ive made some mistakes but need to get back on track

Posted on February 11, 2012 at 5:06pm 12 Comments

Ive struggled this last week to keep on my diet.  I have tried to add fruit to my diet several times and to bake something that tastes OKish fat free that I can eat, its all ended badly :(.  Feeling a little disappointed but Ive realised that I've spent so much time looking at what I cant eat, that Ive forgotten what I can eat.  So I'm having a couple of days off (until Valentines day is over with) and then I'm going to start again.  Has anyone got any suggestions of veg juices that are…

End of week2

Posted on January 15, 2012 at 12:12pm 0 Comments

It seems only 5mins ago I was starting this blog.  I have strayed from the diet just a couple of times and all of those were because I was under prepared.  I still stand by the fact that to be successful on this diet, means to be prepared, so there is always food to grab if I need it quickly. I have had to grab a banana a couple of times, which strangely enough only gives a small reaction, where as apples make me very poorly (strange)  I have noticed a few good things, increased energy and…

Learning to be healthy day 2

Ok so I am only going to blog weekly after this blog entry as I'm sure there wont be any major break throughs of interest.  Day two has bought lots of low blood sugar moments, but I've kept plenty of carbs close at hand.  Still I have managed to keep 100% to my diet and after a few weeks I'm going to start to reduce the carbs.  I'm sure that the most important thing about being on a diet is to be prepared!  Thanks to everyone for their kind words and advice.  This time the Candida doesnt…

Kirstie....I don't notice die-off when I take the gse...not sure why and not sure if it's  just me....but it is excellent for killing off candida.   Have you tried it?  Do you notice any big benefits from it?  I take 30-50 drops of the liquid(oil)  in a small amount of water with 1-2 dropperfuls of stevia...chased down with lots of fresh water....I have even done 75 drops at one go....makes your whole body shiver.  I would not recommend you do that many....start out with 5-10 drops and work up....

I did the Three Lac also...it's good....but not a miracle.....Candida is just a pain!

By therapeutic doses I mean at least 6 capsules once or twice a day of the highest potency probiotic you can find.  Seriously.  It will do you a world of good.  Must take before eating.......for best results.

Hi Kirstie....just read your Jan 5th post....want to say that I too have had long term severe Candida and there are several things that have helped me quite a lot.  The first one is grapefruit seed extract.  It comes in an oily liquid (the fastest acting) and various capsules/tablets.  I was taking large doses of it and got rid of some of my most aggravating issues. (Chronic wet phlegmy cough, lung issues, sinus issues).  It is one of the most bitter things you will ever taste, but I mix the oily liquid with stevia and just drink it down with a very small amount of water, followed by lots of plain water.  Or you can just take the capsules/tablets.  It isn't expensive and works very well.  The other thing that I feel has made the most difference is taking probiotics, lots of them.  I would suggest you take therapeutic (ie larger than normal) doses for at least 1 month if not 6 months.  This approach is a bit more expensive, but cheaper than the doctors and really really helps alot.  Your intestinal environment gets a really good boost from this and the health of your gut environment is the most important thing in dealing with candida.

It would also be helpful to do a colon cleanse...one which requires fasting (ie drinking only green juices with it) and lasts for 10 -14 days.  It needs to be that long to get down deep.

I have tried so many things over the years........and these are what have helped me the most.
