About Me: (at least a couple of sentences; ex: family, interests, hobbies, favorite quote, personal mission statement, etc
I'm a new grama of twin girls and I want to be healthy so i can see them have babies too. I've been skinny all my life until I went thru menopause and I just don't believe I have to be this way. I used to eat macrobiotics, and am just beginning to incorporate that back into my diet, but thought I'd go further and see what RAW was all about.
How did you hear about our community?

What is your motivation for joining Real Food Rehab? (moral support, education, recipes, inspiration, fitness tips, etc.)
moral support and recipes. I am a caretaker to my very old father and supporting my mother so he can stay at home, plus I watch my little girls two days a week and work, so there's not much time for me. I need to remember that I count too!
RFR Oath: I acknowledge that everyone is at a different point along their health & wellness journey and I will respect the individual progress and needs of others as they make lifestyle choices and changes of their own. Back To Eden film

Posted on May 28, 2012 at 3:42pm 10 Comments

I had the most amazing experience yesterday to be the guest of Paul Gautschi at his garden in Sequim, Wa.  Paul is the gardener behind the film Back to Eden, which you can find at www.backtoedenfilm.com.  The food coming out of his garden is spectacular and the taste is beyond this world.  Everything was sweet.  We first tasted some Kale (from last year!!!) that was starting to flower.  He broke off some tops for us and said to try it.  I was…

Missoula Montana - who do you know there?

Posted on February 7, 2012 at 12:25am 5 Comments

Two weeks ago I recieved one of those calls that you dread getting.  My sister in Montana had suffered from Takotsuba, a rather interesting type of heart attack.  For 6 days she was in a drug induced coma as they gave her heart and lungs a chance to rest.  For two days after that, as she attempted to come out of the coma, we thought we would loose her 3 different times.  But as I write this, she is comfortable…

Guilt

Yesterday I was having a discussion with my brother about the different addiction groups.........NA, AA, CA, etc.  Being an ex-addict he had a lot of insite into the functioning of these groups.  He was relating that one of the problems with these groups is that if you are not 100% clean' you really can't talk because you don't feel comfortable.  I told him that one of the great things about this group is the overwhelming support for any small attempt to go RAW.  That I have never felt…

fridge temperature

I'm not exactly sure where to ask questions of the general
membership, but I had a pretty simple question so I wonder if someone see's
this if they can answer me.  Since I no
longer have cheese or dairy or any animal product in my fridge, I'm assuming I
can drop the temperature?  Does anyone
have any feedback on that thought?

What you have said is exactly the encouragement I need today to stay the course. I was out with friends last night and made good choices, but thought to myself "this is going to take forever to see changes in my body. Can I endure long term?". Realized that I can't think long term, but just one day at a time, perhaps, one meal at a time. Your thoughts are right on! Thanks for sharing. Have a great weekend!

The only things you can control are:

how you think and speak, what you do:  what you eat, what you drink, when you move your body, when you sleep, how you will respond to any situation.

Master these simple things positively and you will be amazed at the changes that will come into your life!  Let this be your year to SHINE!!
