Question - lunch/smoothie totes

Hey everyone! Does anyone know of a site where I can find a good lunch tote that is masculine looking? It is for my hubby, and I'm finding a lot of girl totes (pink, w/dots or flowers, etc.). I'd like to get him one that he can take to the office without getting teased! Also, I'd love to get him and me a glass drink/smoothie container that we can fill up each morning with our respective smoothies. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks!

Profile Information

About Me: (at least a couple of sentences; ex: family, interests, hobbies, favorite quote, personal mission statement, etc
I am a vegan living in a major "meat" state (Texas), but I'm originally from the midwest. In the 90s, I was a "mostly vegetarian," but strayed from that when I started traveling a lot for work and most of the vegetarian options I encountered were plates of steamed, mushy vegetables (mostly zucchini for some reason). Today, I'm a vegan and loving it!

My background is in Psychology. I'm a research Psychologist, and currently I'm working part time, both as a consultant and as college instructor. I love to write - I'm currently writing two books. One is called "Ten Things Everyone Should Know About Human Behavior," and the other is a fictional novel set in the 1990s. I spend most of my free time hanging out with my hubby, writing, and trying out new recipies or creating them myself. I also provide personal assistant services to my two kitty cats (both high maintenance but highly lovable).

I think my best quality is that I'm insightful. But that also means that I have a pretty good idea of when I'm doing something that I shouldn't be doing!

The China Study

Posted on June 28, 2010 at 10:23am 9 Comments

I'm reading the China Study now, and if you haven't read it, you might consider it. It is based on solid scientific evidence from a large body of converging evidence (i.e., not just one study), and from what I'm reading, the author is right on in discussing the findings and the appropriate conclusions to draw from it. I have a research background, and I'm always skeptical when I read books on what to eat and not eat because I wonder where the evidence is, but this particular book has got it.… Continue

Positive, positive, positive - and Graham Crackers

Posted on June 21, 2010 at 12:33pm 2 Comments

Hi everyone! Well, I've reached a point where I'm "stuck" at a certain weight. It can be a bit discouraging, but I keep reminding myself that it means I haven't gained any back from where I am, which is my lowest in about 2+- years. So for that, I'm grateful! I've also had an epiphany about a no-bake cheesecake from my childhood that I'm going to try to reproduce as a mostly raw and totally vegan dessert. It's this jello-no-bake cheesecake that is fluffy (not like a regular… Continue

Day 3 of Insanity and a great raw birthday cake!

Posted on June 10, 2010 at 1:25pm 8 Comments

Well, as I noted in a prior post, I've begun the insanity workout DVDs. It is hard, but it is so nice to be moving again. I was wondering if my energy would suffer due to my 100% raw during-the-day eating (I've been doing the workouts in the mid-afternoon), but so far it hasn't. Excercising feels so good!

Yesterday was my husband's birthday, and I made him a nice dinner of:

  • A simple arugula salad w/ homemade rice wine vinegarette and sesame seeds sprinkled on…
