I LOVE learning about and meeting people who are interested in improving their health and wellness. My mother has had cancer 3 times, and all of my grandparents have died from cancer. I consider myself blessed that I have discovered how important diet is at a young age…so hopefully I can say screw genetics! I eat 99% vegan diet, and I am super curious about eating a raw vegan diet, even if it is only for 30 days =)

Hi Rachel! Thanks for the friend request! :) I have been interested in raw foods since '99.. off & on since then! I am nursing a beautiful 18-month old boy and really am working on a healthy balance with raw & cooked foods and incorporating more raw, especially greens, into our lives!! Just planted our veggie & herb garden seeds this morning!! How is your raw food journey going?
HI Rachel thanks for contacting me. I am learning more about raw foods and trying to get a palate for more raw foods. I am currently eating more like a Mediterranean diet. Fruits, veggies, nuts and seeds, ---fish,lean meat,cheese (limited amounts) whole grains, olives and a smidge of red wine. I have switched to raw milk and farm eggs, a step in the right direction, but not ready to give up dairy yet. I have a friend who has introduced me to juicing and am loving it. What's all the whining about cleaning juicers? I don't find it an obstacle at all. I have ditched the sugary and processed cereals to whole grain cereals and eat only sprouted grain bread.That has been a major change. I have switched to whole wheat or quinoa pasta and brown rice.i really still miss the old white stuff, but my friends tell me my taste buds will change and my mind will adjust. I am really still having to reframe my frame of mind, I am 51 and grew up eating junky processed foods from cans. I didnt eat lettuce salads until I was grown. My mom never cooked with garlic. Her spice cupboard had salt pepper, onion salt, lowreys season salt and most likely MSG!! I started working at a 4 star French restaurant when I was 23 and have loved to cook ever since, although it has taken 30 years to get to where I am today. It is never too late to take charge of one's health I figure, I want to take care of mine. So I have to say to myself," Linda, you have come a long way, from SPAM and MAC to juicing and Whole grains and RAW food recipes!"WOW I am wanting to steer that direction as I become more educated and learn to reframe my eating habits. My mind is changing, but I really have to be intentional and think before I eat. I am wanting to learn more about raw foods healing power esp since my bother in law has just been diagnosed with non hodgkins lymphoma.Got any ideas??
