I just turned 49 years old. I've been married for 24 years and I have 3 children, ages 19, 17 and 10. I'm a personal trainer and I teach SilverSneakers classes. I have been interested in health and fitness my entire life and I have been doing "the raw thing" for about a year now. About 4 years ago, I developed adrenal burnout, and with the help of my Naturopath and supplements, I was able to heal myself, although I never totally recovered from having adrenal insufficiency. Because of this, I was put on bioidentical cortisol and dessicated tyroid for a few months. I felt so incredibly well that I had a lot of energy to make smoothies, salads and raw cereals. Now that I'm off the cortisol and getting off the thyroid , I would very much like to completely heal myself to a point where I would never need to supplement again. Raw fooods have allowed me to feel great again but my challenge is to stay raw close to 100% of the time, since this is where I feel the best!
How did you hear about Raw Food Rehab?
I originally bought "Raw Food Cleanse" through Amazon.com and googled Penni's name to find more info on raw foods, and came upon the rehab!
What percentage of your current diet would you estimate is raw foods? (this answer many change over time)
How are you hoping this community can best support you in your journey? (moral support, transition advice, recipes, inspiration, fitness tips, etc)
I'm hoping to hear advice from others who have had the same problem I seem to have with my adrenals. I'm also hoping to learn more about easy, delicious recipes that I could incorporate into my family's daily eating habits. And, finally, I would love to learn more about being consistent with eating a higher percentage of raw foods:)!
