About Me: (at least a couple of sentences; ex: family, interests, hobbies, favorite quote, personal mission statement, etc
I am 58 years old, married for 39years, 6 children, 11 grandchildren. Outside of my family and close friends, my greatest interest is in spiritual things. I love my home and garden, and reading is a passion. For years now have been interested in raw foods. Two years ago I lost 3 stone, fixed arthritis, reflux, heart palpitations, gallbladder problems, constipation, got fit and felt like a million dollars on almost totally raw. Slipped a bit since, and wish to return to that amazing state.

Hi Jerusha, thanks for your email :) The raw pot luck went really well thanks. Most of the people there were there for the first time so that was nice. It was great to be so welcomed and to automatically have so much in common with a group of people. It's not an experience I have often :)
How often do you have your pot lucks? I'm coming down to chch in January to see my mum and would love to bring her along to a pot luck. She does green smoothies and bits and pieces of raw.
My raw has been going pretty well lately. I'm experimenting with 100%. My problem is that after 2 days I start to lose weight and I don't really have much to spare. I'm planning/hoping to get pregnant in the next few months so want to make sure I don't get underweight.
So I did two days 100% last week and I'm doing 3 days this week. And just high raw the rest of the time. I leave Saturday's and Friday nights pretty open so I can eat out with other people and have something naughty. It always makes me feel so gross that my raw motivation shoots up again straight after, so that works for me.
Have you tried any new recipes lately? Have a great week, Amanda

Hi Jerusha, thanks for your message, I'm sure the quake has been so disruptive in so many ways. My family are all in chch too, hard times. You are doing really well on the raw :) Two weeks totally raw is such an achievement. The most I have ever done is three days at 100%. My raw journey is still going well, it's a huge part of my life and a constant source of motivation and interest. I'm going to my first raw pot luck tomorrow night. Will be so great to meet some people on the same wavelength for the first time. I'm quite shy though so a little nervous. I've recently gotten into juicing which makes me feel great. Soon I'll be able to plant some of my own juicing produce in the garden. I must get re-involved with Raw Food Rehab, I've been a bit absent for a while. Have a great raw day, Amanda x
I am so relieved to hear from you! Yes - when I heard of the eathquake in Christchurch, I knew we had a few members of RFR there. You were the only one I hadn't reached & I've been praying for you safety. I feel so happy to know you all are safe. I have never been through anything like that (we do get tornadoes, but its not the same).
Even though it has been hard, it sounds like this has really created a shift in your big picture thinking - in some positive ways. I will continue to send my thoughts, prayers & love to you and your family as you continue to rebuild.
