"Smoothies retain their quality longer than juices from what I've heard because of the fibre content of the fruit/veg. That said, I wouldn't use one more than ~24 hours old and I'd be sure to keep them in a tight container (mason jars…"

Wednesday Update

I'm still truckin! Thanks to whoever (I can't remember, I'm sorry) suggested to just try to stay raw for three days consecutively. It's totally working!

Does anyone else do a "cheat" meal on the weekend? I am a (vegetarian) Thai and Indian food ADDICT and look forward to it all week. That said, I usually wake up feeling groggy and mucous-y (yuck I know). But I honestly can't imagine life without them!

I'm really trying to stay away from nut-based meals. I want to lose…

Tuesday Night Doin Alright

Alright guys, I'm doing much better than I was Saturday!

All Monday and today I've been about 90% raw, I just ate a few Mary's flax/brown rice crackers and yesterday I had rice paper wrappers.

Monday I had: a green smoothie, a big salad, and veggies & sprouts stuffed inside rice paper wrappers with nama shoyu.

Today I had: a thick green smoothie w/ fresh almond milk I made yesterday, a fruit/nut bar, and raw zucchini hummus with a couple Mary's…

UGH THIS IS HARD

I need help! I allow myself some cooked food on the weekends, but I'm DYING right now- I want Indian buffet or something else heavy and fattening.

I'm not even actually hungry- there's plenty of fresh raw food in the house. It's just such a weekend tradition to go eat somewhere with friends.

I ate a big cooked meal last night and woke up all achy and with my nose stuffy. This frequently happens to me when I eat cooked food... if I add dairy to the mix, my eyes will be glued…

Good for you! The first couple days back can feel a little weird and shaky, but you'll get your groove back. Be kind to yourself.  ENjoy the rest of your day.   :)    p.s. some ripe delicious fruit or a fresh lemonade with greens in there always brighten up my raw palette and reawaken my cravings for healthy food.

Gwen,

Saw where you were asking for tips on how to keep things fresh.

You may enjoy cutting up cellery and carrots and putting them in a jar

or container of your choice and letting them soak in watter.

Makes them very crunchy and much more refreshing.

Works with daikon radishes too.
