anybody out there drinking juices w/broccili or cabbage or cauliflower?

Posted on January 17, 2012 at 4:07pm 10 Comments

i don't make specific juices according to recipe...i juice only what i have left of a meal (i am approximately 40-60 raw-cooked vegan)...since we also consume cooked vegan, i frequently have left over produce which goes into my juicing regimen...

i make such heavy-duty, almost tummy turning juices with broccili, cabbage, asparagus stems, or cauliflower or combinations of, and always add either celery or cucumber to dilute the strong juice....it's hard to stomach them sometimes, but i…

making paper from wheat grass!--why we can't digest the fiber but drink the juice

Posted on January 6, 2012 at 2:45pm 4 Comments

so even though i got my new omega juicer, i still like making my wheat grass juice in a vitamix and then straining it....

i noticed a while back that the solid strained remnants of the wheat grass looked fibrous, like paper--no wonder our stomachs can't digest the stuff...

anyway, my girls and i flatten the wet fibers and in one day it was a thick paper....(hmmm, note to self to make next year xmas ornament gifts out of wheat grass fiber?--the stuff is easy to put on a form and…

just got my 2nd juicer yesterday in the mail...first was my jack lalane which works well but i can tell the blade is getting dull although it still does what it's supposed to....i've had jack for 2 years now...and i can see it still has a place in my kitchen...

had my first run today w/omega...and wow, can it extract juice out of parsley leaves--no problem!! with my jack it would just touch the blade and be tossed like a frisbee into the disposal container with 60% of leaves…

looking to RFR about spirulina and chlorella--your thoughts

Posted on December 6, 2011 at 10:00am 6 Comments

first question i have is--is spirulina and chlorella raw?

is there a preference amongst rawists for spirulina vs chlorella?

i've been reading a bunch about spirulina and most things point to spirulina being just another marketing hype and also being somewhat toxic...

so i am confused...i consider raw food rehabers very educated on these things, hence i turn to you!

and update about me--my omega 8006 is on the way to my house…
