Turmeric- I love you!

Also May I say Turmeric?  I may have already posted about this amazing spice and if so, I apologize! but I am in LOVE!

It is AMAZING!! I started having asthma again - even having to take a couple treatments of albuterol.  So I had a huge jar ( super cheap- like $10) of turmeric and since it is valued as a anti inflammatory, took a couple spoons of it in honey and apple juice.  I did that several times a day, and it worked to get rid of the asthma as well as to get rid of the aches and…


Wheat Grass Powder

Just bought some wheat grass powder from Frontier Herbs.  It was not expensive,like $9 for a pound-  doesn't really taste that great but so easy to put into the morning green smoothie.  I am starting to get to the point of " Is it palatable?" when I do my smoothies.  I love delicious smoothies but in the morning I seem to be more interested in getting something that will make me FEEL the best.  It is expensive to always have to be buying those $6 boxes of organic spinach or kale.  I know…

I have been LFRV low fat raw vegan now for a month and it is working so well for me!  I was raw several years ago for about a year and half but got so confused about all the cheesecakes and the fancy desserts which used nuts.  You see I would make them and then be the only one to eat them!  That's a problem- The only thing my children really liked was the berry jumble with a nut and date  crust.  I made it for Thanksgiving and several people put it in the microwave and put ice cream on top.…


Raw in Mexico

Any suggestions for eating raw in Mexico?  I am going to an intensive language school and will be  staying and eating with a host family- at least for the first week or so.  I have requested no meat and just veggies and fruits.  I am not opposed to eating cooked food as my focus is on learning the language rather than being completely raw.  When I traveled in Mexico with my cute hippie boyfriend in the past ( sadly  :( I am no longer with him ) we ate out of the market.  Mangos, bread, and…
