About Me: (at least a couple of sentences; ex: family, interests, hobbies, favorite quote, personal mission statement, etc
Hello everyone....I am 44 yrs old and am from the middle of Iowa. I joined RFR back in October of last yr (only stuck with it for a week or two) and then went back to the SAD diet. I was hoping going raw would help with alot of health issues I have had in the past 15 yrs or so. I don't know why I gave up on going raw so soon last Oct, but i would still come back to the RFR every once in awhile because I felt drawn to it. Then on Feb 23rd of this yr. I started going 70-80% raw and about 90-95% gluten-free w/out hardly any carbs or starches except for veggies and fruit ones and I have lost about 15 pounds and slowly feeling my body detoxyfying. I am starting to listen and understand it better.

I have always had wieght issues my whole life and from the age of 13 I suffered from bulimia (which is what I believe screwed up my digestive enzymes in my body and i suffered from severe stomach pain for yrs). I am happy to announce that it has been three years now since i gave up bulimia. (yeah!) and i no longer suffer from as much stomach pain now. However I have had allergies, asthma, bronchitus, and pnumonia and sometimes a lil bit of heart trouble lately. I have been on an albuterol machine for going on about 12 yrs now. My doctor kept putting me on that latlely, giving me too many steroids and antibiotics and also told me I would have to be on Advair for life and I am here to try and prove him wrong.

I am a single mother raising a ten yr old daughter. She keeps me I can relate to all mothers about putting yourself last on the list because I have done this for yrs. I have been through a couple of relationships that have not worked out AT all but those are a whole nother I also have a 24 yr old daughter (whom just recently joined me in the RFR world) I am so happy I will be having support on my journey with her and I have a 22 yr old daughter. She just moved to North Carolina last December so I kind of miss her being around. My oldest daughter has a little girl that is 1 and a half. She is so adorable and my 2nd oldest daughter has blessed me with four beautiful grandbabys ( 2 boys and two girls) and I am so proud of all of them.

Sorry to rant bout alot of to make a long story short I joined RFR for moral support, friendships, health, wieght loss, love, happiness and beauty, which I truly believe we all have deep down inside each and every one of us. I have read alot of your stories on here and they are truly inspiring. I want to thank Penni for pulling this all together and for creating such a lovely and beautiful site and I also want to thank Dave the Raw Food Truckdriver who truly inspired me by watching all of his amazing transformational videos on the youtube channel. Thank you Dave and thank you Penni.

I am very blessed to be in this group with such a diverse amount of positive energy wrapped up in each and every one of us. I am hoping to meet you all and stay connected

Love, Light and Blessings,

Dakota :)

Quick Tip for Those of us who use a cheap juicer

Posted on August 3, 2014 at 11:31am 1 Comment

I found out that after juicing all your fruits/veggies.....if you take the pulp and put it back into the juicer a 2nd, 3rd or even fourth time you can still get alot of juice out of the pulp.........just juiced some apples, oranges and grapes and put the pulp thru three more times and got a full glass of invigorating juice out of it

                                                      Enjoy! :)
