I bought some local apricots at the store yesterday and they are soooo wonderful! I am putting them in my green smoothies and just eating them plain....I could eat them by the pound. My smoothie today is made with another head of romaine lettuce out of my garden, with some mixed baby greens, a banana, an orange, some strawberries, apricots and water. It came out to be around 44 ounces....and is all I have eaten so far today. I also had a tablespoon of dulse flakes. I put a tablespoon…

I woke up this morning with a desire to be more raw. For all of the possible reasons. So I went out to my garden with knife in hand and the inner basket of a salad spinner to gather some lettuces before the sun got on them. I was on guard for earwigs as I know they love to hide out in my lettuces....so I warned them (I think bugs can hear if not our thoughts exactly, our intentions) and I shook out the lettuce a bit, and cut the leaves off carefully making sure the earwigs had skedaddled…

I just wanted to share this with everyone as it is a great alternative to antibiotics and really does the trick. It is about getting rid of sinus infections, which if you will research, are all mainly actually a fungal infection....especially true for those of us with candida, but also true in general. So taking an antibiotic is a double edged sword....and whenever you take an antibiotic you really need to take probiotics to stay in balance...but if you just go for the probiotics…

Last night was a bit tough. My stomach was in full panic mode, jonesing for the cooked food very badly. It took real effort not to have a bite of my son's chicken quesadilla, or make some toast. Instead, I made a fruit smoothie. Not quite juice, but definitely raw, and it got me through the night. It was 2 mangoes, 2 oranges, some strawberries, some coconut meat from a young coconut, and a banana. It was gooood. And it got me through.
Today I got up, I was feeling tired and…

katelynn courtemanche said… Thanks Alessandra for the comment! I think that I may end up making a video on how to actually make it (its soo good!). But if you would like the recipe I will probably be posting it later :).
I know that it will be hard, but you got to work hard to get to your dreams!
Aen Brauer said… Thank you for your support/comments on my blog. For some reason, I was trying to hold back on the amount of fruit, probably due to my SAD outlook on food (LOL), and now that I am allowing myself to eat fruit I am now drinking 32 ounces of green smoothies (packed with greens) every day!
Evey said… Hello! Thank you so much for your support on my blog. At the moment I am cycling through juicing, raw and cooked foods and I am very very ill :( - I am not liking the raw recipes at all. I am considering going back to juice but having soups in the evenings as it is so cold, wet and miserable at the minute. Its difficult getting used to raw foods. I'm not keen on the nuts or seeds. :(

Matt Donahue said… I am loving the whole concept of exploring fruits and veggies for their health value. BUT, if I had to pick a fave it would be bananas, lacinato kale, coconut butter, raw honey, romaine, blueberries, garlic clove, ginger, some carrots, and raw eggs. I am combining the paleo and vegan diet. I have been eating raw meat and drinking smoothies for a couple months now. Unbelievable feeling.
Matt Donahue said… I am fine. Lost around 40 pounds in a couple of months so far. The energy feeds my exercise and the exercise feeds my desire to have kick ass drinks. Love the vicious cycle that I have created. Are you in any bad areas with the wildfires? Stay safe and healthy.
