Thanks for sharing how you made your coconut butter, HDC.  I too was wondering how you accomplished such a beautiful product.  I'm stocked up right now but I'll be trying this someday.  I see saved $$$ signs in my future  : )

Coconut butter is not the same thing as coconut oil. I made it by placing dehydrated, unsweetened coconut shreds into a high speed blended and letting it run for a few minutes. The coconut turns to liquid. You place it in a mason jar and the coconut rehardens...way yummy in smoothies, cookies, recipes....delish...Make sure your coconut is not De-fatted before purchasing....if you buy it by mistake, you can always a a little coconut oil to help the process.....it has to have the fat to turn into  liquid state.
