Hi Lisa - I posted Maggie's Sore Throat & Cough recipe yesterday on RFR's Facebook page - see if it's something you'd like to try.

starting to get a sore throat...what do you suggest???

PS: apple cider vinegar with honey (raw honey only) makes the body more alkaline which will help with getting rid of the pain/inflammation so a glass every morning (even if you have lemon water, you can add the ACV and honey) and an es bath once or twice a week - should be a good starting point - curcumin is excellent or you can use the fresh root of turmeric in your food which is even better.

Thanks Kathleen. I did know that, but I was mostly just wondering about the effects of it on us.

Jenny, a very good soothing thing for any arthritis is to have an Epsom Salts bath - 2 cups of epsom salts, soak in the bath for 20 minutes.  ES is actually magnesium sulphate and it goes in through the skin.  Be absolutely certain that you get pure ES, no nasties in it - in Australia the best place to buy the pure stuff is a pet store would you believe, not sure about where you are, in the UK the best I could find (for my sister) was Boots but they only do very small tubs, hope this works for you.

Penni- I've heard of it, but I've never seen it. I'll have to check it out. Thanks!

Kathleen Smith - has you ever watched the documentary Super Size Me? it's a pretty comprehensive look at what can happen to the body, mind & spirit when a person primarily eats a processed, fast-food SAD diet.

Comment by Kathleen Kelly on October 3, 2012 at 3:48pm

SAD is just a nick name. Most people just call it food. It's the Diet that most Americans eat so it's known as Standard; hence; SAD

I am looking for information on SAD (standard American diet) and how it effects our mental health. Can someone point me in the right direction?  I'm not having much look on google.
