Raw Food Rehab

Adding LIFE to your years and years to your life!

Has anyone had any experience w/venous insufficiency?  This is where the valves in your leg veins are not working properly and blood pools in and around ankles and or vericose veins.  I just wondered if the raw food diet has helped correct this condition for anyone.  The doctors want to block the bad veins off and/or reroute them.  I was hoping to avoid that.

I don't know if there is anything that can be done to repair the damage, a diet that contains more raw foods will certainly help. I just read an article where they describe this problem and their suggestion is to take (I am quoting article):
"Try this: Citrus bioflavonoids (diosmin) may provide symptomatic relief of heaviness and pain in CVI.
Escin: This compound found in Aesculus hippocastanum (horse chestnut) calms inflammation and attenuates damage to veins. Escin is known to reduce permeability and fragility of veins. (It's also helpful for varicose veins)."
