Raw Food Rehab

Adding LIFE to your years and years to your life!

I was wondering if anyone else has ever had shingles. My husband seems to have a very slight case, but we are not sure.
He started with pain around his hip (almost 2 weeks ago)  which spread around to the front to his belly button and back to his spine. He went to the doctor (allopathic) who said it sounded like shingles, but since he didn't have a rash, probably not. So he prescribed oral prednisone and a cortisone cream (which I would not allow!).
The next day lo and behold, there are two blisters. Thats it. The one has gotten larger and opened, the other one just filled with fluid last night. His pain is pretty bad but hasn't gotten worse-he's still functioning for the most part. No new rash or blisters either.
I used a natural approach: hydrogen peroxide therapy (to oxygenate his blood) lysine (they say the herpes virus pops up because you're low on this amino acid) and colloidal silver. I've also kept him covered in bentonite clay and he bathed in it last night.
My theory is that everyone is different and that given his age (41) and that he's fairly healthy that he may not have as bad of a case as someone more immune compromised.  Chicken pox are the same way, some never get them (me) and some have horrible outbreaks, and some only have one or two.
I was just wondering if anyone could offer any thoughts on this.
Thanks!

My father-in-law broke out with a case of shingles 2 years ago and the prescribed medicine was tooooo expensive for him to purchase. He called me and asked if I had a suggestion. I suggested 3,000 mgs of olive leaf extract for 30 days and then drop down to 500 mgs. for the rest of his life. He has not had another outbreak! That worked incredibly well for herpes one for me. No outbreaks!! Thank God!! Olive leaf is an herb that you start out high does and then go down after 30 days.
Hope this helps,
Scherrill
Acupuncture! A good friend of mine grew up with shingles, was on every med possible, but nothing helped. Acupuncture has been the only thing that has kept her PAIN FREE.
Thank you everyone!
He is still SAD (cooking on the grill as I type). I've been trying to get the dairy out of the house since 3 of us cannot have any. Will probably be a bit more vigilant now.
I will have to find an acupuncturist in the area-that sounds like a great idea!
Where would I find olive leaf extract? I will head to the health food store in the morning and see if they've got any.
Thank you all! :)
