Adding LIFE to your years and years to your life!
My story is a long one and I won't bore you with it. Started green smoothies 2 years ago along with health salads, whole grains, fruit etc. Not 100% raw by any means but definitely high. My intestines which I don't think have ever been normal have improved. Lately however (and this isn't really new) I've had decent movements in the morning followed by runs (more like gravy) with undigested food in them. and I need to be really close to the restroom. It doesn't matter what I eat. The last two days there's been cramping, itchiness and a lot of that. Along with sinus problems and weather changes I really haven't been feeling well. Trying to figure out what I should be doing or not doing. I decided this morning to order some enzymes from Garden of Life and add them to my diet. I'm mostly eating brown rice since last night to see if this helps. Any suggestions or do I need to give more info. Thanks, Carol
P.S. I'm new to this group. Looking forward to learning lots.

Permalink Reply by Carol A Brown on May 28, 2012 at 4:33pm I'll be 63 in a few weeks. Whatever it was has passed and I'm not food combining yet. So who knows. I added Chia seeds a week ago and wonder if you can detox from them.
Permalink Reply by Wendy Geesey on May 28, 2012 at 4:35pm Any fat in the diet slows detox down to a near HALT. Chia is pretty high in fat as I recall... but whatever it was I'm glad you're on the mend ;)
Permalink Reply by Carol A Brown on May 28, 2012 at 5:50pm THANKS. So chia is high in fat? I learn something new every day. Yea. I guess it would be along the lines of nuts and seeds. It still gets good reviews for using daily so I thought I'd try it.
Permalink Reply by Wendy Geesey on May 28, 2012 at 8:30pm Yeah, over half the calories in chia are fat calories. I have chia, but don't eat them much anymore as I do the HCRV/LFRV thing... I choose avocados and walnuts (in extremely small quantities) b/c those are my favorites and since I hardly eat overt fats at all I only go with my top tasty favorites ;-) Chia is good too, but to me they are tasteless....
Permalink Reply by Carol A Brown on May 28, 2012 at 11:31pm I've been reading lots about chia seeds. They are great for helping with detox. I'm going to try them for a while. I have some truly raw ones coming. I'm reading Jordin Rubins books right now. Heck, I've done every thing else just about over the years. LOL Love my green smoothies though. they definitely made a difference just not 100%. Even got DH to doing them and changing his diet. Nothing short of a miracle. He's lost weight. WOO HOO!

Permalink Reply by Carol A Brown on May 29, 2012 at 11:09pm Thanks for the info on papaya seeds.
