Adding LIFE to your years and years to your life!
Hello, I have been coughing up phlegm/mucus for 2 weeks. It started with a cold or flu. I think I still have post nasal drip and that's why I'm still coughing. Anyhow, when I get into coughing fits and am just about to cough out a lung, sometimes I smell cigarette smoke. I have never smoked, but grew up with smoking parents and other relatives. I generally do my best to avoid cigarette smoke, especially now that I'm pregnant. Has anyone else experienced coughing up old cigarette smoke? Also, if I am slowly detoxing old second hand smoke, what foods/herbs/etc are good for lung/bronchial health & detox. I read about lobelia. I haven't tried it since I've been pregnant, but I plan to as soon as it is safe for baby.

Wheatgrass juice is excellent for lung health!
Permalink Reply by Wendy Geesey on July 4, 2012 at 9:13am I have heard of people detoxing from old... YEARS old second hand and even first hand smoke- this is deep tissue cleansing. I'd be doing the Futterwacken very vigorously if I were you, lol! ;)
Mullein herb - Eccellent for the lungs and most likely free for wild crafting somewhere near you. No concerns with pregnancy in my past experience or according to a quick internet search. Wow! Great that you are able to do this for yourself and your baby :-)

Wendy, I was wondering about those people who detoxed for years old second and first hand smoke. Did they also experience the smell of smoke when coughing? Did they experience any other symptoms?
Permalink Reply by Wendy Geesey on July 4, 2012 at 10:08pm Hi Mari, not sure- I'll have to do some research on that... I do think that taste and smell are closely related tho, as far as that goes- doesn't surprise me that it's hitting your olfactory senses. Paul Bragg also experienced some amazing detox reactions even 90-some days into a water fast??? I'll see what I can find, but for now- it's bed time ;)
