Adding LIFE to your years and years to your life!

I started this on a different thread, not realizing that this is the room to be in for this question......
I have an older model juicer. I am looking to replace it, however, the choices are endless. Could anyone please tell me what is your favorite juicer, and why. Also, I am very interested in a model that produces a lot of juice per fruit/veggie. Is it realistic to think I can get one that does the above for aprox. two hundred dollars? If not, what can you recommend?

I have an Omega juicer and a Breville Elite. I heard that Omega was the "best" but I am just too darn lazy to slowly stuff my carrots through one at a time. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Breville 800JEXL- Juice Fountain Elite 1000 Watt Juice Extractor. I went through three of the entry level juicers which have more plastic parts (one was recalled and two broke over time). The Breville Elite is the one with more stainless parts - cleans super super easy compared to others I think. The pulp of my juice is very dry so I know I'm getting max juice levels from this juicer.

It is $299.00 (ouch!) but has paid off. I regret the money I wasted on other models. I'll have this thing when I'm 80 I'm sure. Good luck on your search!
I've heard and seen videos comparing several and the Huron was very impressive.
Check out the comparison thread HERE.
moments ago I ordered the Hurom! I am very excited. There are lot's of youtube demos of this juicer, check it out.
Thank you all for your input:)
I bought a Champion 2000 plus, and had it for a week or so. I noticed that no matter what I did, the juice was very warm and the machine did not take green leafy veggies too well. So, I returned it a few days ago and bought a GreenStarEliteGSE5000 and WOW what a machine!! This is the newest GreenStar on the market. I can see why people think Greestar juicers are the Cadillac of juicers for many reasons. It takes all my leafy veggies very quickly. My juice was not warm at all and the juice was very green. It was so easy to get the veggies and fruits through the feeder shoot. I hardly had to push them through the feeder. The Champion was much harder to feed. I also noticed that it did not take that long to put the veggies through like I had anticipated since the feeder is not that large. The pulp is unbelievably dry!! That is also another WOW!! I made Banana whips for the kiddies and they loved them. I have to give Champion credit for frozen banana whips because it too made them great!! I picked the GreeStarElite for making juices, whips and almond butter. Clean up did not take long at all. This juicer was the best choice for what we needed it for. I thought it was really worth the extra cost.
I think I may try and pick up a Breville juicer sometime in the future, just for juicing purposes for when I am in a rush. I have heard many great things about the Breville.
Hello Michelle~I am so glad to find someone that owns a Hurom juicer!!! I am trying my hardest to decide between the Hurom & the GreenStar Elite. I think I have watched every video on the internet comparing the two & others. My purchasing points would be that I will juice every day as opposed to juicing in advance, homogenizing & yield. I did see where Matt Monarch used a Hurom for Banana ice cream...however, didn't look whipped. I was also wondering if you used another kind of juicer prior to your purchase of the Hurom? How is it working out for you? Thanks in advance for your response.

Hi Rita,

my experience with juicers was limited to my little Juiceman Juicer and a friends Breville Elite. I also watched every video out there and read every review. I first started dreaming about the Green star but then when I saw the Hurom it just looked so much more user friendly to me. I never had any hands on experience with the green star though. I use my juicer every other day and the clean up is easy. I don't store juice either but if I needed to this one is great for that. I make my ice cream in a food processor now, you can see some of my crazy videos (it's a High raw Life).
Good luck choosing. I am a very happy Hurom customer, I kiss it everyday!

I have an opportunity to buy my friend's like-new Omega 8005 juicer at about 1/2 the regular price...

http://www.omegajuicersdirect.com/store.php?productID=118

So I think I'm going to go for it!

I don't have a juicer right now and have been using my neighbor's Jack LaLanne juicer as a meanwhile type of thing...

Anything blaring or weird I should know about the Omega 8005? So far it's seeming like an awesome juicer that I'm going to love love love.
i've been using my champion since 1980 and have loved it. but recently i purchased a hurom - words cannot describe my euphoria. what a wonderful juicer. smartest purchase i've made in a long while.
I used the Champion Juicer for 7 years and then started using Jack LaLane thereafter. I've been wanting the Brevelle Elite but have heard so much about the Greenstar....decisions, decisions.
Hi,

I just bought a new Jack La Lanne Power Juicer and love it. The only thing I notice though is that I don't feel the exact same effects with spinach and other kinds of veggies that I once felt when I had my regular blenda. Quite interesting! I may just have to keep using my cuisine art food processor to get everything I need from spinach. I will have to try this tomorrow or later today. But the juice does come out smelling wonderful and potent.

I read in an Amazon.com review that the Hurom doesn’t make nut butters. Anyone know if that’s true? I adore nut butters so this would be a major downside to the Hurom for me.
