Joyanne- It can also be because the skin is a direct extension of the lungs, (ex: if someone stops smoking, their face will most likely break out because the lungs are cleaning themselves out.) And a lot of it has to do with hormonal imbalances... and the fact that most people don't clean their pillow cases or cell phones enough. :)

Did you know that acne is the end result of a backed up colon?

Hopefully this is a picture of me with "Beet Makeup" if I am technologically lucky

Hi beautiful ladies
Any suggestions for clogged pores? - small white bumps on the face...... currently steaming for 5 minutes and then using an exfoliator and then washing with honey. I just started the vegan raw food diet about a month ago so maybe that will help clean up my complextion ( spelling?) Any one with a miracle cure?

I use an amazing skincare line from a company called Amala (Sanskrit for "most pure". They're NaTrue certified and are also fair trade and eco-conscious. Love it!

I am headed to my very first holistic massage next Monday @ 4:30p! I am SO excited, and imagine I will want to make this a regular part of my self-care.

I save orange and lemon peel for dehydrating and grinding, and also use it fresh for a body rub. Put the peel of two oranges ( use only a little lemon if you wish) in the VitaMix (blender) with about the same amount of organic coconut meat and grind it into a fine moist powder. Dry brush your skin; have your shower or bath waiting for you. While either standing on a towell or in the shower, massage a SMALL amount of this on your skin, avoiding your face and upper neck (too strong.) You can also mix this with a little powdered sea salt, OR oil (almond, macadamia) or high quality lotion, and massage in as well - you may find it easier to handle. Then enjoy a long shower or bath soak and say SPAaaah!

Organic sunscreen formula listed below-some ideas for you. Jojoba instead of bees wax. Jojoba oil is actually a wax, not an oil in chemical composition. It also spreads better at room temperature - so beware that if you substitute your finished product will be softer. Vitamin A is very photo sensitive and breaks down faster than Vitamin E, so you can use the Vitamin E for an antioxidant protectant instead of the A if you wish. You can add a little pure mineral makeup powder to part of your cream, and have a skin loving foundation. Sun protection should be re-applied every 4 hours due to epidermal water factors of the skin. Add extra to thin skin, eyes, lips, cheek bones, and tops of ears. HAVE FUN!
