Good Morning!

I am new here so I thought I would give a little intro.

I am a Christian SAHM Homeschooling Mama to five amazing children, ages 15, 10, 12, 6 and 2. I am the only one going raw at this point, but since I do the majority of the cooking, they will be coming along with me. I have alot of weight to lose and a few health issues that I am hoping to heal. I look forward to talking with you all.

I'm loving this cute idea for using an ice cube tray!

Hi everyone.  I am currently living in the UK (originally from Cali) I have just transitioned from natural hygienist to LFRV.  My son who is 11 wants to eat healthy like me.  So basically I have eliminated dairy, flour, eggs adn meat and introduced dark veg and veg, beans, nuts, and fruit.  For me I noticed that his mood changed and that he looks so much healthier.  I do have some concerns as I am very new to all of this so obviously I don't feed him more the same as myself, instead I go more Vegan/Vegetarian.  The other issue however is that I have no support at all here and have been put down and yelled at for eating this way.  When your own dear friends make comments such as "your going to kill your kid" it impacts on me.  I don't really see how I am doing anything wrong, yes I do worry if he is getting enough nutrition and I also let him decide what he wants to eat as to not create hang ups in the future with food.  To me it is funny how other's that I know are so eager to give their kids candy and crap and for some reason that is ok.  but because I do not give my son cheese and pasta I am a monster who is creating an Anorexic Child.  I know there are books on how to cook for your kids and dr fuhrman wrote a book on disease proofing your children, I just wondered if anyone else had a book to recommend that would support what I am doing.  thanks to all :)

I am also transitioning my kids.  It is hard with so many americanized people around.  You can start the same way I have and it has made a world of difference.  My kids are corn, soy, wheat, dairy, nut, egg, chocolate, bean/legume free.  I have also began making our own snacks and I use pure maple syrup instead of sugar.  Find raw ice cream recipes and other types of snacks and start with that.  You will notice a huge difference.  Chocolate and sugars cause alot of problems and you will notice that if you use raw chocolate that the problems will come back so I recommend that you use carob.  Although it is a bean and will cause a bit of upset it will be much better than chocolate.  Acupuncture will be a good jump start.  They use tiny balls instead of needles for the kids.  Good luck.  If you have any more questions feel free to email me.

Does anyone have an extra copy of Raw Kids lying around? I have checked all of the local libraries and no one has it. I really can't afford to buy one right now, but it is crucial that my kids transition. Three of my five have very severe ADHD, and I believe this transition will make all of the difference in the world! Thanks for your time:-)

jana, we have had 6 aupairs in the past---all from poland....we live in CA...but no more aupairs for us since our children are grown up and more manageable : )

if i knew of you a few years ago, i would have loved to have an aupair with the same food values as myself....good luck to you :)

Thank you for all the input here...  I'm working on getting my three year old eating more raw and veggies in general and need all the wisdom I can find!  He's not doing too badly, likes several veggies but dislikes more than he likes...He always 'tries' things, but getting him to like and actually eat them is my challenge.  We're workin' on it!

Try building Cucumber Boats with the kids!

Just thought of one more thing...I now pack their lunches every day in the same container and bag. I don't think I can paste what web site I got it from on the forum but just message me or email me and I'll be happy to share where I got it (it's free of BPA, vinyl, lead, etc and very sturdy and big enough to hold enough food for bigger kids).
I think the way it looks normal/cute along with the reliability and predictability of it is yet another factor in helping my kids transition.
