Hey! My rhubarb fruit leather is very yummy! I just chopped the stalks into pieces and turned on the vitamix W/O water or anything aand added honey to taste and poured one large circle per teflex sheet and dehydrated a day and a half. I had to add quite a bit of honey, but it is fruit leather, so we are not going to sit down and eat five at a sitting! A little is all you need. I will make it again. Hurray!

Rhubarb. Any ideas? I whizzed some in my blender with honey and it is now drying in the dehydrator. I am hoping for some yummy fruit leather. What do you think?

Thanks Girls for the comments on the dried tomatoes. Freezing them is a good idea did not think of that. They were pretty ripe when I dried them so dont want to keep them hanging around for too long so freezer is great. Thanks

I put mine in the deep freeze (dehydrated tomatoes) so I have them year round. I love eating them right out of the bag...... just pop them in my mouth and as they soften up the flavor just bursts!!

I dry tomatoes really dry and vacuum seal them in glass jars.  I soak them in a little olive oil to soften when I wsnt to use them. (I usually marinate them in oil and seasonings for a while before dehydrating.)

When I dry them, I cut them in half and dry them completely until they are really very dry. Then I put them in a plastic baggie and store them in the cupboard. When I want to use them, I soak them in water to rehydrate and they taste fantastic for raw marinara sauce, or cut into strips for salads, chopped tiny for bruchetta, or anything you can think of.

Hi, Just dried a kilo of roma tomatoes in my dehyrator. They really shrink right down. Some are really dried others are still a little soft inside. I made some once before and was not sure how to store them.

How long do they keep in the fridge?

Do you just store them in a container or in oil? The oil seems to go hard around them( thats how I stored them last time ) it was not nice to see rock hard oil with the tomatoes sitting in it.
