Comment by Darlene Ashcraft on May 11, 2013 at 7:47pm Should lubricant be used to insert enema tip?
Comment by Darlene Ashcraft on May 8, 2013 at 6:01pm I saw my holistic practitioner today and she is very supportive of my raw vegan diet. She also said that colon hydrotherapy is a good idea too. Unfortunately there is only one listed colonic therapist in this entire area and he is quite a distance south of here and I don't have a reliable car to travel.
I'm wondering if I can get almost as good benefits at home? I ordered a book from amazon yesterday : Colon Health Key to Vibrant Life
Dr. Norman W. Walker
It's an older book but had great reviews so I thought I'd try it. I have another book reserved at the library but the author's name escapes me.
From what I've read, I probably have some serious problems due to being constipated for so many years.
I feel like a stick of dynamite might be in order! :)
Comment by Darlene Ashcraft on May 8, 2013 at 8:38am I posted this in my blog but thought I'd share it here:
I've been trying to get as much info as I can about at home enemas. It's a touchy subject for me but I'm intrigued by the health benefits they can bring. From what my holistic doctor said and from what I've read, all disease begins in the colon. I was on a gluten free diet before going raw this time. I take magnesium baths and some other things she suggested. I haven't asked what she thinks about enemas. I see her tomorrow and I'm thinking about asking her opinion even though I'm pretty sure I'm going to start doing them. I just don't know how often?
I was going to ask my Digestive Specialist after my colonoscopy but I didn't. I figured she would be against it. I probably should have asked anyway. I had a pre-cancerous polyp that she removed last week. I've been so upset about it and I want to do everything I can to prevent that from happening again. I also have a family history of colon cancer so I want to be extra vigilant. I haven't been able to find books about the topic. Maybe I haven't looked enough?
I would like to know how often to take enemas. Especially at first. I was wondering about people who take them daily? I have a lot to learn and think about...

Comment by Patrice Dolan on November 12, 2011 at 8:11pm Hi everyone
I have been 90% raw for just on 4 weeks and have noticed a change in the colour of bowel movements to either extremely dark green or black. I eat a large salad daily as my main meal and juice or smoothie as well. Is this normal? I feel I should panic but I am quite calm and think maybe this is how it should be? Would be interested in any other experiences.
Thanks
