Any good recipes or foods to combat inflammation? I have been inflamed throughout my body for the past two years, appreciate any good smoothie ideas. Thanks

Turmeric is great for inflammation. I take it in capsule form, but I have friends who add it to smoothies.  check out this link.

Here is a quote from that site;

Horwitz, the medical director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine and an assistant professor of clinical medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson,wrote a paper for the American Academy of Pain Management in which he discussed the health benefits of turmeric. 
“Turmeric is one of the most potent natural anti-inflammatories available,” Horwitz states in the paper.

I've been having a wonderful Turmeric Tonic almost daily now that has been helping me with stiffness, inflammation and arthritis. You can get my recipe here:

You may also want to try avoiding foods that are known to cause inflammation. I'm currently on an anti-inflammatory diet prescribed by my naturopath and can feel a huge difference in level of joint pain etc when I eat something that isn't on it. Here's a list of some of the foods you may want to avoid:

:: Nightshades (tomatoes, potatoes, eggplant, peppers)
:: Wheat and most other grains (quinoa, buckwheat, and millet are ok in moderation, also brown rice (although it raises blood sugar level).

:: Soy
:: Dairy
:: Corn
:: All sweeteners except raw honey in moderation

Tumeric+ Honey or Maple Syrup+ apple juice= anti inflammation tonic  I use quite a bit of turmeric when I am having symptoms.  I will take 1 teaspoon of turmeric with 1 teaspoon of honey and 2 tablespoons of apple juice - 4 or 5 times a day!  Just mix up small batches to take like medicine.  It is amazing!  It is bitter and I really don't like the taste of it in foods.
