Adding LIFE to your years and years to your life!

Hi Guys : )

I know that many of you know my dad, Howard aka - the Wheat Grass Kid. My dad is 81 years young and he truly is the light of my life in so many ways.  I just took this photo of him yesterday:

The reason I took the photo is because he wanted to mail it to someone.  You see, my dad recently informed me that he has been "talking" to his first true love from high school who lives in the middle of no-man's land in western Texas.  Betsy (80) has been a widow for a few years now, and my dad tracked her down and it appears that the original spark may still be alive after 62 years.  How cute is that?

Well, here is the other side of the coin, and the purpose of why I am asking for your prayers: About a month ago he had some routine blood work done for his annual physical.  We learned that he was anemic, which seemed pretty weird, as he still works out, eats a relatively healthy diet and supplements with a quality vitamin/mineral daily. He's never, ever, been anemic in his life.  So he has been going in for weekly b12 shots and yesterday they did some follow up blood work.  The results show what I was concerned might be the case - anemia levels are a bit worse and he has an elevated white blood cell count.  Now I am waiting to hear back on the bone marrow biopsy they are scheduling as I type.  For those of you in the medical field - you know where we're going w/ this.

I am REALLY close to my dad. I will be the one to walk through this journey with him. My prayer is that I will remain a calm, steady, joyful, peaceful and constant loving support to him every step of the way.  No matter what.

I love you all and am thankful to have this place to come as we love & support one another in faith.

Dearest Penni......Thank you for letting us know.  I'm a total Daddy's girl, too and I can only imagine how you are feeling right now.  I am now and will be keeping you and your Dad in my thoughts, in my heart and in my prayers.  Keep the faith and just keep putting your right foot in front of your left foot knowing that you are surrounded by love and light at all times.

You and your Dad are in my prayers.  I know how it is when you're a Daddy's Girl... Been there done that. I will submit your names to the prayer group. Stay strong and put your trust in God.

Sweetie,

you have my deepest prayers and love...having just gone through this ..my heart is still raw...you will do what needs to be done, whatever that is..just feel into your heart...and feel free to turn to us or your loved ones for YOUR needs as well....Be a rock and loving support for him...but make sure you utilize your own support system and allow yourself the freedom to FEEL whatever it is you need to given the circumstances at hand...my prayers for the most positive news......blessings to you all

I too, Penni, am and will continue praying for your Dad, adding my Faith your and all that are praying for a good accurate report, his relationship with Betsy and her wellbeing also. Much love to you all and Praise be The Lord.
Sending lots of love, light and healing energy to the Wheat Grass Kid (and to you and your family as a whole).  How fun is that to find someone you loved so long ago. That for sure will add a spark to his already bright light and help him through whatever may come. All love...

The peace of God reigns like an umpire in your heart!  : )

The Holy Spirit will uplift, energize, comfort you and bring you wisdom.

I declare strength like you or your Dad have never known before to rise up in the Name of Jesus!

"The peace that passeth understanding."  Amen.

Penni, you know I will get on my knees and pray down some serious Holy Spirit on Howard, you and the entire family.  Reach for the peace that passes all understanding, sister.  I love you.

I bind my Faith to yours and agree, So Be It Done.

Sending white light to you and your dad...
I am praying right now ...for you and your DAD   xo

First, I love to hear love stories like this.  Now, I have prayed for  you, your dad and all concerned regarding him and I will continue to pray, so keep us posted.

Not long ago in my devotions of J. Vernon McGee's commentary, he said, as a pastor he used to go to hospitals and tell people that God loved them and would minister and help them more than they could ever imagine.  He said when it was his turn to be in the hospital with cancer he experienced exactly what he had told other people.   He is a giver of good gifts to them who seek Him.
