I agree with Kathleen about the price of produce. It certainly is not cheap here in South Australia. I do try to grow some stuff but I tend to get more misses than hits : (

Permalink Reply by Darlene Ashcraft on April 21, 2013 at 8:07pm I was impressed with the prices but disturbed that a lot of it was packaged in plastic and also that he encouraged eating raw food that had been treated with pesticides. Did he really say that?
Permalink Reply by Kathleen Kelly on April 22, 2013 at 6:28am Keep on trying to grow some food. John talks about good, better n best. Just do your best and it will be good enough. Even when I'm eating seedless grapes it's better than a candy bar :)

No, he doesn't encourage eating food that had been treated with pesticides. John talks about good, better n best. He said best is to grow your own food; better is eating store bought organic produce and good is eating food that had been treated with pesticides because it's still better that eating processed food.

Permalink Reply by Darlene Ashcraft on April 22, 2013 at 9:06pm I understand about good, better and best and that eating fruit is better than eating, like a candy bar. But I can't justify eating pesticides which are toxic. I'm respectfully giving my opinion and in no way want to start a heated discussion :) I also know that if you soak veggies and fruit in vinegar water and rinse and rinse, it will get rid of some unwanted chemicals. This is my opinion only. I live in an apartment but I have been doing some reading and plan to grown veggies in large containers and maybe vertically on my patio fence. I think growing your own is the best way to go without a doubt! Anyway, peace be with you and love and blessings to all!
