Adding LIFE to your years and years to your life!
I battle with this all the time, I go to work, bring food with me, I usually get out in time to have a quick lunch, but it has to be quick, then I am off until 8-9pm on most days. I really struggle with what to eat and when and I find myself eating like crazy when I get home at night. I should also mention that the last 2 hours spent before I come home are Martial Arts and then a Bootcamp class, so I am hungry. I have read many contradicting articles about not eating past certain times and everything, I know for myself I feel better if I do not eat too close to bedtime. Any suggestions? lol I am really not sure what to do but I know I need to fix this, I am gaining weight because when I don't have time I grab crap or I tend to eat a lot of nuts because I'm not home to eat and getting home to eat that late is a problem as well.

Permalink Reply by Wendy Geesey on May 14, 2012 at 1:43pm I just replied to your post on the Hurdles topic. I went 811 about 6 weeks ago and absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE it!! Only have to prep if I want to... all the fruit you want... learn how to make a good green stew and there ya go! I've lost 8 pounds eating until I either can't eat anymore or just don't want anymore... they say (on 30bananasaday dot com) if you get cravings at night you aren't eating enough during the day. I use fitday dot com to track calories, macro nutrient and activity level- it has really helped me get a handle on things :) I like plugging the numbers in though so it's not a hassle for me ;-) I don't eat nuts, seeds, overt fats anymore, just maybe half an avocado once in a while with my stew- so yumi and so quick to make. So glad I kept searching for the raw lifestyle that suited me... I recommend Dr. Doug Graham's book, The 80 10 10 Diet... makes so much sense too. I believe it's the way our bodies were designed to eat.
Permalink Reply by Beth Adams on May 14, 2012 at 4:02pm Thank you, I have heard a lot about the book but have not gotten it, maybe I will look into it, lol I think I worry too much about getting in enough greens, everyone is always saying to make sure I get in my greens but honestly I get 1 sometimes 2 but not often green smoothies in a day and sometimes a salad but that's it, the fruit would work better for me especially if I can just garb and go lol Thank you!
Permalink Reply by Wendy Geesey on May 14, 2012 at 7:41pm According to the "laws of optimal digestion" you should eat your fruit first anyhow. I eat fruit all day long then in the evening I make a delicious green stew (eating it as I type :) I've heard advice to eat whatever you want/feel like/love especially when you first switch over to 811. Don't fret about your greens... as you detox and progress your body will tell you when you need them. Since I crave them I find them yumi.... if you don't crave them you might not enjoy them as much. I eat within the parameters, but only what I really really like- it's great!
