Real Food Rehab

No rigid rules, labels or dogmas.... just REAL food, for your body, mind & soul!

Greetings!

As I endeavor to eat 100% raw, the issue I have continuously run into is how to feel satiated.  I generally make a green smoothie for breakfast, (unsweetened almond milk, banana, green powder, micro greens, scoop of protein powder, scoop of flax seeds) and a large salad for lunch , but I end most days feeling really hungry, don't want another salad, and then begin to forage in my kitchen...Any tips on how not to end my days feeling so hungry?  Is this perhaps part of the transitional period where my body is simply adjusting?

I had this same problem when juice fasting. What worked for me was to consume more raw fresh juice! As far as food is concerned I would recommend eating more. When people first switch to a raw diet many times they do not realize just how much food they will consume. It is quite a lot.  Here is a video of my friend Kristina's eating for a day as a good source to refer to. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2yV1Kgcmg4

Great video...thank you.  Agree...I am not eating enough!!

I would sometimes consume one or two teaspoons of raw coconut oil in the beginning when I knew I had eaten a lot but didn't feel satiated. I think the raw brahs talk about it in one of there videos. It really helped with the cravings for fat and meat too.

I have found coconut oil to be great for supporting a full feeling. Also dates fresh and organic can help too. They are full of minerals and can extend the calorific content quite a way. Bananas are good too. Mostly I have found I can easily eat double the amount I tend to create for myself.
