Hello everyone! I am studying this type of lifestyle and am convinced that it makes sense. I have some concerns because of my occupation (long haul trucker) that I haven't figured out how to overcome. Such as, I don't need to start something that will have me running to the bathroom every few minutes. My rig is over 70 feet long, and I can't park just anywhere! Also, if I started a juice fast, how could I handle the clean up. I don't have any type of running water in my truck. How much volume of fresh fruits and veggies does it require to do a juice fast for a couple of days? Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Anyone know of any other truckers in RFR?

I wrote out a pretty detailed response to Mark. I wish you would have just removed the link to my blog if it bothered you, rather than delete the entire thing. However I would like to point out that I was just offering the link to my blog as a resource for him. It is far easier than typing out everything I want to say in this comment. I promise that I did not post the link with the express goal of gaining publicity...I really don't make any money off of my blog lol.

Mark, I suppose I'll post again.

Getting enough calories from the right sources is something many raw vegans struggle with - and the reason for most failures out there, in my opinion.

I've been a raw vegan for over 2 years, so I've had time to experiment and find what works best for me:

Breakfast: big smoothie - 5bananas, 2c OJ, and .5c frozen fruit.
Lunch: monomeal fruit - recently I've been having 6-10 oranges or grapefruit.
Dinner: a big, low fat salad or blended salad - 2-3c greens, with some lemon or tomato, spices, and maybe half an avocado... And some dates or sometimes dried fruit, to add calories & to fill me up - plus I think sweetness makes everything more palatable, seeing as we are natural frugivores, so we're programmed to like sweet things!

Keep in mind that I am a 5'2 100lb female. You will probably need to eat more than this...so that's a lot of food! But it's so worth it, there's no feeling in the world like being carbed up on fruit!!

Christina - I'd like to suggest that you visit our Liquid Lounge and start a discussion (not just a comment on the wall - that way people can offer you specific feedback more easily).   We have tons of juice recipes there as well!  And if interested - check out my book on the topic Real Juice Daily : )

I am about to start my first juice fast so that I can reset my body/taste buds/cravings in order to work my way up to an 80/20 raw food life style.I have been a vegetarian for 6 weeks with the last week as a vegan in order to get the most out of my cleanse. Whenever I make juice, I just throw things together till I like the taste (not celery though. Just don't like it). I was wondering if there are recipes that anyone would like to share with me to make my fast not so boring. I like everything (except celery) so I will try pretty much anything. Oh and I have an Omega 330HD in case that matters.Thanks for any help you all can offer and have a great week!

Hi ,I would love tips and recipes for putting weight on,I am under weight and due to the lengths I am  going to beat cancer my already fast  metabolisim is going faster.
