I am in training at the moment to do my first spartan race next March.   My son did his first earlier on this year and convinced me to go into the 7km sprint in March of next year.   I am 62 years old and I have decided that it is now of never for me.   i work part-time so I have some time to train for the race.

If anyone has any tips they will be gratefully received.

I am both excited and scared stiff about doing this but feel I need to press the point!!!

Just keep believing in yourself and get a good trainer. Best of  luck to you and thanks for the inspiration. 

Awesome!!!  I am cheering you on!  I don't necessarily have specific tips about the physical aspect of the training, but what comes to mind is to gather images of folks like you/us who have achieved amazing things in this decade (60's and beyond)

I've seen lots of photos on FaceBook for instance of people well beyond 60's doing yoga, dance, running etc. It's good to have the mental imagery that supports the knowing that YOU can do this!!

i did my first spartan race last september i just turned 52 i say go for it !! but i would definatly train !! run balance excercise do a boot camp that will help to push ups if you have any questions i would love to help!!!
