Raw Food Rehab

Adding LIFE to your years and years to your life!

The Treadmill -- some love it, some loathe it, some have good intentions but find its more useful as a expensive clothes drying rack.
I'd like to for the next 11 weeks celebrate the treadmill. And if you are photographically inspired, show us your treadmill. Show us your exercise space!

Under "Featured Photos" Penni posted my treadmill desk. Its not mine, it is my dream to convert my treadmill into a desk like it. Thanks to Flickr I found what I want and I know what I want! So if there is anyone out there who is up for doing before and after treadmill photos, I'd love to see them! I'm your biggest treadmill cheerleader. How can we make our treadmills more inviting and less "ugh, really? No, not today" places?

Do you do yoga in your living room right next to the couch, babyeinstein playtime saucer and the laundry bin? Show us! Trust me, you are not alone.
Do you have your workout area in a cement basement with a dusty boombox on the floor next to the dusty weights? Show us!
Maybe you have your rebounder on the three season porch? Show us.
Are your exer dvds/videos somewhere in the pile between Die Hard and Veggie Tales?? I get it.

Okay, I'm over the top but maybe we could have a Pimp My Treadmill Video (you know, like the Pimp My Truck show) contest. Or an "Extreme Home Gym Makeover" before/after photo sharing celebration?

Sometimes our exercise spaces aren't inviting places. Sometimes they are out of necessity communal places. If we can celebrate our food and take picutures, then maybe the way to find community in embracing the diversity of exercise space is to share those too.
What would you do to make it better? Paint the Wall? Add Plants? Excavate everything that's in it? Create a Motivation/Inspiration wall with progress charts? Find a way to create a treadmill desk? What do you need to make your exercise destination a place you look forward to?

I love that you posted this. I didn't even know there was a youtube remix.
I love this.
And I love my friend Susan for making this silly video postable so we can all enjoy.
You made my day!
I love British Humor. Rob Brydon just cracks me up. Rob as Bryn the Gym time Motivational Speaker for your viewing and laughter pleasure. This clip brings me joy.
-->I'm gonna smash it!! I'm gonna smash it!!
--> We were in The Zone.
--> Great Session!
Treadmills as choreographed dance art. Song is from "ok go" and this is Granbury HS covering "The Treadmill Video" on their HS stage. Can you even imagine the hours of choreography these lads undertook to make this happen? Awe, pure Awe. Best Inspirational 3 Minutes Of My Day Award goes to these folks and their treadmills.

This is not my treadmill. This, like the other treadmill desk, are from Flickr. Credit due to {Platinum} on Flickr. Apparently Topper the Cat enjoys the treadmill too. There are lots of great treadmill desks to be seen and admired on Flickr!!
This one has a shelving system behind it to hold the large monitor screen, but has an acrylic desk for the keyboard, note pad and anything else you need.

Maybe posting a few more treadmill desks will show people that there are many ways to make your own treadmill desk happen. Again, these are not my photos. All rights belong to their owners. I share them for educational purposes. See how this one creatively called "Treadmill Desk 3.0" by owner 'jumpyORG' has a simple wooden box that sits atop the treadmill handlebars. Nothing fancy. Just the right height.

I absolutely LOVE this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a treadmill in our garage that is stuck on level 10 incline so I never workout on it anymore.. guess I should, but it's not any fun when I can't try and run on it, lol.. I do have an elliptical machine in my office though (that I need to get on more) and my video workout area is currently in the living room. I am posting pictures of each.. My dream someday is to have an official workout room though.. I would LOVE to have wood floors (or laminate is okay too) with mirrors like in the gym so I can see form while working out.. but for now, this will have to do for my home workout area. :)

Are you movin' it

today? : )
Way to freecycle clutter furniture to people who need it and will appreciate it all! And Bonus Cheers for setting up your home gym area with Hannah! Anastazia -- I hope your daughter is pulling thru her illness. I've been sick all week horking up all sorts of nastiness and dealing with fevers is never fun. Hang in there! Be gentle to your bodies and build each other back up!

I agree, we can't look to shows like the Biggest Loser for a how to manual. Its so frustrating for me to watch anymore. Its so NOT the things to do if you are at home, not surrounded by doctors, and such. Instead I'm glad you see the light on the dashboard of your treadmill as the source of your limits. You said it best -- I will work up to one hour a day.

I like the attitude that its not about OVER exertion. Your activity can be a source of pride and joy when you step up to the day and just say "Today I will be better than I was yesterday." And only you know what that means! It can be a few more minutes. It can be a higher incline. It can be whatever you say it is that allows you to cheer -- "YES! Today is great! Look at Me! I worked within my time frame, I made it happen and I feel great! Hooray for me Today! And tomorrow I will be better than I was yesterday because tomorrow begins today!"

I'm cheering you on! Keep us posted!
