Raw Food Rehab

Adding LIFE to your years and years to your life!

I am looking for some bodybuilders who are raw. I am fairly new to the raw scene and about 80% there. Since I don't want to reinvent the wheel I am looking for others who have competed with a raw diet. I have always been clean (no funny supplements!!!!) I am 48 years old and have competed for the last 3 years.(i placed 1st in Womens middle wt this past year for our southern province)  I recently took up yoga as well, do to too many lifting injuries. Any advice would be welcome.

Deina,
I have a friend who is 100% raw. She's competing in her first competition this upcoming May. I know she is using raw vegan protein powders and such. If you are on Facebook, I can get you in touch with her. Just tell her you're a friend of mine. :O) She also just started a Raw cleanse on Fb, if you are interested. i can send ya the link...

Hello, I'm equally interested in learning more about getting the physique of a fitness model through raw food. I've just been talking to some trainers who recommend 80%raw and 20% cooked. How does your diet compare to this? Also, do you take anything special in terms of protein? I'm using the raw vegan protein powder right now which I like but am wondering if you rely on anything else or any other foods to supplement. Are there any raw foods that you avoid? What about living foods, such as sprouted grains?

Healthy eating is the focus first and foremost! The proteins I use are "Sun Warrior Raw Protein", and Hemp. do avoid a lot of nuts cause they are sooooo fatty (good fat) but still I need a lean diet. Lots, and Lots of greens..... love all the receipes and smoothies on this site!

i drink about 2 pints of green smoothies per day...i will add either hemp protein or raw whey protein. i eat a lot of sprouts that i grow myself, such as lentil, mung or pea. a ton of fruits support my glycogen stores for the intense training.....ONLY if i need it, i will have nuts and seeds or dried fruits, they tend to weigh and slow me down.
thanks for the advice, I am starting to feel what my body likes and what it doesn't like (nuts and dried fruit have really slowed me down......and adding bulk in all the wrong places LOL)
