At 102, Ray Clark stays fit with the help of Thom Hunter, his 70-year old fitness trainer.

"Ray's goal is to get the most of out of everyday... old age and Ray don't go in the same sentence. He's mature, and more experienced; he's not old." - Thom Hunter

Why does reshaping a midsection (especially lower abdomen) have to seem so stinking impossible after 2 cesareans?  :-\  Gonna get there!  Been back and forth with upper cervical care (corrections t0 alignment of vertabrae around the brain stem.  Having to work around that as it demands letting those muscles rest post correction.  Anyone know of any good ab workouts that would not stress the neck or deman twisting in it?

I do bellydancing for fitness. I like it and I feel quite fit. I do it for 26 years allready. And I still love it.

I've been in rest and recovery mode this week and the very first little bit of exercise I've been able to do was a 15 minute walk in my neighborhood. It felt like a total celebration after 5 days of confinement (temporary - getting better - excellent health returning) I'll be hooping, hiking and dancing again soon!

Going for a run tonight, and trying to get in as many training runs as I can before I run my 4th 5K (3 weeks away). So I'm working on hills, sprints and endurance. Fell off the wagon a bit in recent months, but I want to feel strong by race day and keep a regular workout routine going, rather than on again, off again.

Good luck and best wishes to all in your training and physical efforts!!

hi patty;  yes, it has been very hard.  i did not mention how i have cried much, but i have chosen to follow the inward power within me to walk this journey.  it knows what is best....for it can see what we cannot see ahead.  i, too have run since i was a little girl.  loved it, always.  i was a sprinter and my husband, who was a distant runner, started me on running long distance.  my longest run was 15+ miles.  i was really proud of myself.  after my injury, (stress fracture , in may 2011, after my 2nd 1/2 marathon) i was going to make my come back and train for a full marathon.  i guess those were my plans, but not the divine one.

what i have learned from this is not to attach myself to anything: persons, places and things.  it is all impermanent.....enjoy while you are there and move on to something new and different.  learning to live in the moment is wonderful.

i have not shared this with my running friends, yet.  i have not had on the running shoes since august 9, 2011....so it has been a year and i have not run at all.  i enjoy yoga, too.  just may take up bike riding.  have not given that much thought.  for now....swimming is the thing for me to help cool this hot/dry temperment of my. :-)

hang in there.....it is all good!

have a beautiful day!
