Adding LIFE to your years and years to your life!

Permalink Reply by Ayn on July 30, 2011 at 1:42pm I am new to raw but have read the China Study and Live Food Factor along with watching many documentaries that are out there. This is the first video I have watched with Angela and Matt. The most important thing for me is to keep an open mind. They do seem scattered, but passionate about what they feel is correct information. Again, it is important to take what information is out there and glean what resonates with you. If we followed the all the advice of what the community calls "Experts" we would drive ourselves crazy with .....
No potatoes.......Yes, potatoes.
No animals.......yes animals.
You get the picture.
I heard about Hemp Seeds and decided to buy some the next time I went to the market. Every time I tried to buy them I felt uncomfortable inside so I didn't. Then I thought I better do some research of my own
and found out that I really don't want to add this to my life right now
and that's OK.
I wanted to make a point here for others that are new also. Take it one step at a time. If something feels good to you and really sits in your soul....go for it. If it doesn't fit in with what others are saying, don't beat yourself up about it, just realize that it is not right for you. Thank goodness we are all different with many needs to fuel our individual bodies.
I will still keep an open mind and find more videos of Angela and Matt to give them another chance to see if they resonate with me. :)

Interesting most people say to eat what feels good for you.. You do know McDonald's feels really good for a boat load of children as well as adults.. That is until they get hit by a heart attack..In which case they best adhere to a very strict diet in order to reverse it. You see I am dealing with a young man with cardiac issues at the age of 32.. You can bet he is paying attention now to what foods to eat and which ones not to..
Yes I understand where you are coming from. I think they are good but somethings are abit confusing with them . For me I felt that they promote too many things for sale for me to truly feel confident. I love RFR and you guys rock so I will pick which I feel comfortable with and which I dont.

I enjoyed your post and you made me laugh - LOL! I completely understand what you're saying. Sometimes I get alot out of their messages, and other times I lose patience, therefore when it comes to Matt and Angela, I prefer READING his newsletters. Big difference.
We all have our collected persons we enjoy following, and even our favorites. I absolutely love Kevin Gianni, Victoria Boutenko, Jinjee Talifero, Nomi Shannon, Rene Oswald (Penni Shelton is obvious), Jay Kordich, and more.
Then there are those, like Matt and Angela that I prefer to READ.
Speaking of Kevin Gianni..earlier this year, he hosted the most phenomenal Great Health Debate over the course of a week. During that week, about a dozen of the most well known health individuals did a discussion to make their belief points. It was not ever to be a dispute of another's belief or to scientifically disprove anyone else, but rather to present what they believe to be true. There were paleos, vegetarians (cooked), vegans (cooked), raw vegans, those who ate dairy, those who didn't, those who ate grains, those who opposed it, etc. It was absolutely amazing.
By the end of the week, my brain was tired and Kevin's blog had a discussion to summarize the whole week, and what it boils down to is that no person's body is the same; no bodies point of toxicity, or issues are the same, therefore the remedy for it cannot be the same. Some people need meat; others do not. Some do well with dairy (good dairy of course), while others do not. But the one thing that everyone agreed was of utmost importance within the differences was that it was important to listen to your body; to eat as close to the natural state of the food as possible, freshest and without any poisons; and that it is more important what you DO NOT eat than what you do, as far as health results go. Also, that the one thing they agreed to never eat was anything made from flour.
So, after all that, he does have the tapes still available for purchase if you ever wanted to listen to them. You are on the right track in listening to your body.
I have probably 100 books now, and I have to laugh - The China Study is a book I cannot seem to stay awake and read. I don't know why. I've never fallen asleep as much as reading this book. Maybe someday..
