Absolutely 100 agree!! It is VERY hard to eat healthy being a single mom
Looks ideal, for sure. But in reality, how can the average joe financially afford this volume of produce daily? And in a cold climate, where there's less fruit in season at a good price?
I'm high raw and already buy in bulk, from farmers markets, from co-ops and I garden. Ive never eaten badly (converted to HRV from long term healthy cooked vegan), but still have to budget very tightly to eat raw (organic).
I wish this kind of thing was more accessible for people who are on very modest incomes and don't live in warm climates :-(
Bananas are cheap- use those for a calorie/filler base, then add your greens- those are available year round at the grocery stores... buy specials for variety... where there's a will...
Also- one doesn't have to be perfect at this ALL the time- eat like this when you can, it's better than not at all ;)
Are you are eating all of those peaches before you eat that huge salad? I think I'd explode LOL! I just wanted to see exactly how many you eat on your fruit plate before you eat your large dinner salad?
I think I have a problem with Candida , I don’t know how to say but the corners of my mouth are always open and I have a terrible muscle pain. It is hard to get out of my bed every morning and sleeping does a lot of pain to. My throat is always swollen, went to the doctor and he said it is stress. It is not fibromyalgia for sure I did some tests.
Now I was thinking of doing the 80-10-10 because they say it is the way to get out of the Candida problem but we only have organic apples and bananas. Do you also eat not organic fruit or not organic green leaves.
Hi Betty- I do the 80-10-10... you don't HAVE to eat organic... and actually, in my area it's very hard to find. The 811 diet will seriously help candida, but you have to be strict with the fat.
Thank you Wendy for you reply than i don't make a problem of it.Where i find organic it will be my first choice ,so up to the 811.
If you've never done it before you will be so amazed at the work it takes to get enough calories!! :) I have to start early in the day shoveling in the fruit, lol- it's great! I've learned a lot using fitday dot com to track calories/fat/carbs/protein... you really need to use a tool like this in the beginning... some people use cronometer, but I haven't checked that one out... I know fitday is free, I think crono is too. I have a digital scale sitting right next to my cutting board and Vitamix, and since my meals are so simple it's very easy to track my calories and such... I like weighing my food for accuracy, but you can use measuring cups and whatnot as well ;-)
I do count calories to and have a digital scale to.
Today is the first day and I made applesauce from apples and a banana, just in the blender ,how do I eat all that fruit otherwise ?
I thought of taking in 2000 calories because my work is at a desk sitting but I go to my work on bike that’s 45 min. a day.
For fruit I think it is 1600 cal.,for green leaves it is +/- 80 cal. for 500 gram so I need to eat more veggies.
Fat is 200 cal. to ,I think a half avocado and a walnut or two?
Hi Betty, well I work part-time at home so I can munch all day long :P I usually have about 3/700 calorie meals a day. I use the blender for my blended soup/stew for my evening meal- I usually just eat the fruit. Bananas are fast and easy to eat... or I make nanner ice cream in the Vitamix :) love that!! You don't HAVE to eat any overt fat...10% is just the max. Actually, after putting all my food into fitday or cronometer 1/2 an avocado is about the max I can eat to take me to 10% so I usually only eat 1/4 of one and land somewhere around 8% (I save up my fat grams in case we eat out somewhere). At this stage in my journey it's too difficult to go without any. I seriously look forward to that avocado in my stew at night- so satisfying!!
Thank you!! Great information.......I eat way less , have to increase the intake on everything 80/10/10
