Real Food Rehab

No rigid rules, labels or dogmas.... just REAL food, for your body, mind & soul!

Hello My Dear RFR Peeps -

I wanted to offer an update for you as to what's been going on with me most recently.  As many of you know, I was in Oklahoma City for the past couple of days - on Monday working on my special project and yesterday - I was to attend the lecture and dinner with Philip McCluskey at 105degrees.

Monday's work went beautifully (and yes, I promise to fill you in on the details of what I've been up to very soon), but around midnight I awoke in my hotel room with the chills and began to feel extremely ill.  For those of you who have ever had a nasty stomach bug, you can imagine the scene without me offering a play-by-play.  So to make an ugly story short, I was unable to attend the sold-out Philip McCluskey event at 105degrees.  I was beyond disappointed, as there were a good number of RFR members who came in for the lecture/dinner. I was so eager to get to meet and spend time with the crew, but alas, the intestinal bug won.

Fortunately, I was able to drive myself home today and although still pretty weak, I can tell I'm on the mend. So even though it's March 2nd already, I'm happy to be starting a new month in which we'll be packing in plenty of excitement around here at the Hab!  This Friday, after a month off, thanks to the marvelous Michelle K,  I'll be back in the Foodie Friday kitchen making a recipe from the Resolve to Evolve March Recipe Supplement, so you will want to be sure to tune in for that.

I also want to share that we'll be gearing up for our next 11 Week Initiative over the next couple of weeks.

GO FRESH - 11 Weeks of Rejuvenation & Renewal with Raw Foods will begin on April 1st! I am really looking forward to sharing some exciting details with you about this Initiative very soon.  Be sure to keep your eyes on the Main Forum here at RFR, as this is always where I post our breaking and headline news!  You can read more about what our 11 Week Total Health & Wellness Initiatives are about Here and I also want to encourage you to learn about RFR's Darlene Knight Scholarship Fund by clicking the link.

I sincerely hope this post finds you well and that March is off to a fantastic start.  I'd really love to hear from you in the comments below - tell us how things are in YOUR world!

Oh Penni, there is nothing worse than being sick while in a motel by yourself.  So glad you got home okay and are feeling better now.

All is well in my world.  I was interviewed recently by a reporter about how I healed my lupus through nutrition rather than drugs.  The article is supposed to come out on Sunday.  Although it doesn't specifically talk about raw foods as I didn't know about them yet when I healed the lupus, it does talk about a high plant based diet and no animal products.  I get to experience a tiny bit of what you must feel knowing your story can be such a benefit to others.  I hope they do a good job on it.  I've had a few negative experiences with reporters.

Mary!  Will you please share this with all of us in a blog post once it's released?  I would really LOVE to read it - how exciting!!!  You are one of our big time Rawk Stars!!

Yes, if it doesn't just totally suck, I will definitely share it here!  I'll let you know.  Thanks for your encouragement. It means more than I can say.

Penni, so sorry to hear you were ill and I hope you're feeling 100% very soon!

Mary, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE share your story here! I have Lupus as well and it was through looking for a natural treatment/management of this that I was introduced to raw food. I'm fed up at the moment after having been in hospital over the weekend due to side-effects of my SLE medication and would really love to hear your story and what worked for you.

Warmest wishes,

Lyn

Oh no! How sad you couldn't make it. I'm so sorry. I'm glad you're on the mend and I hope you get feeling better soon.

Penni that is really the pits that you were sick and missed Philip. I am glad you are mending and will be excited to see you on Foodie Friday.

Okay, Lyn, for you ... not matter what the reporter writes, I will share my story.  Watch for an upcoming blog.  I was horribly sick with lupus for a long, long time.  Food and lifestyle healed me.  Of that I have no doubt.  Hang in there (don't stop your meds without your doctor's knowledge and permission) and stay close to us.  The answers are here ... not just with me, but with Penni, Susan, and all the rest.  The power and wisdom here is phenomenal.  Big hug!

Get well Penni!  Lots o love comin your way.  The nasty flu is in my household as well!!  I am crossing every toe and finger that I don't get it!  Looking forward to Go Fresh!!

Feel Better Penni... you poor duffer :(
Also Mary I am so looking forward to your story here :)
Sorry to hear you are not well. Get better soon.
'The Bug' has really been going around.  Hope you feel your best soon.
