Adding LIFE to your years and years to your life!
My friend, Courtney Pool, has been studying plant-based nutrition, superfoods and holistic health for more than 6 years, including working closely with Gabriel Cousens, M.D., world renowned holistic physician and bestselling author, for more than 4.5 years. Courtney coaches, teaches and writes on live foods, holistic health, and juice fasting and feasting. She also travels to lecture and teach classes on these subjects.
Courtney has been known for some time in the online health community for her obscene consumption of spirulina, particularly her famed ‘Spirulina Salad’. As she’s spoken with people about spirulina over the years, the same questions come up over and over: “What is
spirulina?” and ”What are its benefits?” For those familiar with spirulina, the
comments are often “Well, I’d love to take it because I know it’s so great for my
health, I just don’t know what to do with it” and sometimes “I tried it in such-and-such
dish or with such-and-such and I didn’t like the taste.”
Courtney realized that a book needed to be created solely devoted to easy recipes
that combine well with spirulina’s unique flavor. And as long as we’re at it, she
figured, why not feature recipes by the best organic chefs in the world, and make it
sexy and fun? Courtney's Spirulina Recipes Ebook will share how you can incorporate spirulina into desserts, chocolate, entrees, soups, salads, smoothies and more, with 30 unique recipes! Top healthy chefs, including yours truly, Frank Giglio, Angela Stokes-Monarch, Michelle Master and Adam Graham, have contributed their tried-and-true, personal favorites for recipes incorporating the incredible superfood spirulina.

Permalink Reply by Linda Bedell on January 10, 2012 at 9:34am I haven't had it in a couple of years....didn't like it. I'm going to try it again now that my taste buds are no longer "perverted" by SAD foods, flavor enhancers and other chemicals.
Permalink Reply by Penni on January 10, 2012 at 9:47am My favorite simple way to use spirulina is blended into freshly squeezed orange/grapefruit juice and strawberries or goji berries. You don't even taste it in this combo.
Penni, my husband's favorite smoothie during our smoothie fast was one created with nothing but peeled grapefruit with Chlorella. He loved it!

Permalink Reply by LA on January 10, 2012 at 12:11pm I don't mind the taste and would love to add it to my smoothies daily. I've tried many times and my digestive system won't tolerate. I've met other people who are very gluten intolerant or celiac with many food allergies who cannot as well. Wonder if a connection with our intestines needing to heal. I'm very gluten intolerant (maybe celiac) and tests & endoscopies are flawed. For now, I'll stick with fruit & green juicing :)) Thank you!

Permalink Reply by Stephanie Brown on January 10, 2012 at 12:21pm I put spirulina in my smoothies but haven't tried it in any recipes...definitely going to try her salad. I made kale chips last night - I should have added spirulina!
